What's the best Supreme Commander campaign?
I heard good things about this series, and wanna try it out. So which game you think has the best campaign?

SC:FA has the best imo, SC1 is a close second, SC2 is third, but I have to recommend FAF for SC:FA and SC1

Only Supreme Commander has a proper campaign:
-relevant story
-good pacing
-relevant tech unlocks
-each faction gets its own mission

FA has a worse mission design:
-story mostly irrelevant babble
-only few tech unlocks and most of them pointless
-the same mission for each faction but you start with a different ACU (your main unit)
-some secondary objectives in FA are pointless and do absolutely nothing other than checking as completed or failed
-FA just assumes you've already completed the SupCom campaign and thus you know what you're doing, making the initial base construction hard
-FA has pretty poor AI design:
  • the AI will keep sending the same units across the same paths, no matter what, making it only hard to start a base but turning the game into a snooze fest after that
  • the only challenge then is the map expansion that triggers after each main objective completion and you get 2 of those in each mission, except for the 1st one that gets 3
  • with each map expansion a scripted spam attack against your base happens
  • the AI has scripts in place to produce unit counters to yours and attack those directly, using maphacking; this is also the case with the map expansion attack wave spam: they'll come right at your experimentals (super units) with bombers without actually having scouted them first
  • the AI fails to keep its ACU secure and will absolutely use it to rebuild one of its destroyed structures anywhere if no other engineer is available for the task, even if that endangers it, and it'll never retreat, even when getting pounded or at low HP (which is why Rhiza in FA mission#3 can be defeated by random chance before you can even get to T2, even when rushing it: she just takes all the shots from all the boats while trying to rebuild; extremely rare to happen though)
  • the AI has no concept of its own economy and fails to rebuild in the correct order to restart its economy; it doesn't gather resources from wrecks unless those are in the way of any construction, it doesn't "base creep" towards you or switch tactics, it doesn't ramp up anything over time to become more challenging the more time you grant it (except for the few maps where it sends experimentals), which is why the mission design is full of those cheap scripts that fake a challenge by creating a situation in which you'd need to know and prepare in advance or just don't stand a chance because they won't offer you a fair one; the prime example for this is FA mission #5, the Hex5 mission, in which your base gets shelled by a scathis artillery experimental (base destroyer) with the final map expansion while you're stuck in a cutscene that removes your unit control, so you can't even order any engineering units to support the shields
