DLC

I noticed that there is an option to enable dlc units when making a multiplayer map but have not been able to find said dlc anywhere. I am hoping the community knows more about this.

I only see "no downloaded units" option, which I think refers to units from mods, afaik there was never any official DLC for FA

They released some DLC at some point, even wiki is lacking there (me thinks) :)
We did not have some of the experimentals when the game was launched. The UEF Novax was (iirc) not part of the base-game.

That is how I am remembering it. Wont defend it as I have nothing to show for it :D
