How to get Supreme Commander FA running on Linux

I've seen a lot of guides on how to get Supreme Commander Forged Alliance running on Linux, and each of them seem to be saying something different. So, could someone please put an end to this, and give a definite how-to on getting this game to run on Linux? Thanks!

For me, it works with Proton-GE and these parameters:
PROTON_NO_FSYNC=1 PROTON_NO_ESYNC=1 %command%

Edit: Oh! Almost forgot, specifying display mode and resolution in launch parameters make it work form me - for example, /fullscreen 1920 1080. Otherwise I get a black screen.

Where can I find Proton-GE? I also don't have any thing other than Steam installed, such as protontricks or winetricks ect.
