Supreme Commander: Forged Alliance

Supreme Commander: Forged Alliance

Faf replay
If Google wouldn't be such a useless piece of shít I wouldn't have to ask this:
I'm watching a replay and want to know how I can select a player in one. I don't want the spectator mode with no fog of war or resource info that's selected by default.

Edit: If these stupid f*cksh*ts at Google wouldn't have removed the NEAR operator I could at least make sure that "select" is x words close to "player" but thanks to that not being the case it's pseudo-results with no context whatsoever. FU GOOGLE !

Edit#2: And how comes Google is so incompetent when it comes to context in general: If I already write FAF OR ForgedAlliance as search string then it should be clear that I'm refering to the game and it's related FAF Client, not something entirely out of context. But hey - Google doesn't get it because they're too rétarded to even think about positive and negative filter bubbles around given OR search terms to NOT just search for single words but the context they're related to. Biggest search company in the world just can't figure shít out. Simple thing: Check what pages these terms exist on and with what other terms they're commonly related - that's your + search bubble but only for BOTH of the OR-linked terms, not for single ones. Everything that's only specific to a single search term but not to another is the - search bubble and downvotes a "result" because it's not related. Phew that was hard, eh ?

Edit#3: Did I mention I really, really hate Google a lot ?

Edit#4: After all these years Google is still too incompetent to let me seach for a specific title and not it's newer releases and comes up with "Supreme Commander 2" results while I didn't search for that but for "Supreme Commander". What now ? Should I exclude every date or page with a 2 in it ? Have these incompetent shíts at Google ever thought about this ? Why can't they just *get it* that name + number needs to be specific and if no number is given it always refers to the first title of anything which usually doesn't have a "1" attached to it.

Edit#5: Instead of making suggestions something that isn't an annoying feature, by merely suggesting terms (to show the user alternate options), Google decided it's best to force suggestions down their users' throats. It flatout replaces valid terms with invalid ones, proper names with gibberish. And of course that extremely annoying feature that fails like ALL THE TIME can't be turned off. It's always okay to suggest but something entirely different to create a harmful presence that's sabotaging my searches, wasting my time and costing me nerves !

Edit#6: Thanks for also removing the + Operator, previously used to make sure that a term is forced to be present within each result. Now it's gone, thanks to Google+ and instead of being able to make sure a key term is actually present among the results Google now decides what's relevant. Would be a f*cking shame if users could actually search for what they're searching for, eh Google ?

Edit#7: Anyone ever though about a relevance operator for searches: 2 types for up- and downvoting of search matches before showing them on the user's final search result list and for each the user can assign multiple terms so that the user can decide some custom terms to (not) be relevant for a certain search ? Unlike excluding terms with the minus operator this wouldn't cut that hard but just help sorting by user priorities rather than not being able to set any priorities at all but being at Google's mercy for what's relevant and what not or how much.
Example where useful: If I'm searching for "Fallout" (the game) and don't want any non-game sources about that.

Edit#8: Why can't Google just put a ?-Icon right next to it's search bar to get to a help page about the search engine, explaining it's features and operators along with examples, in common English, not marketing bullshít speech and with more than one example per operator, and different examples each time than before ? And why do results have so much empy, unused space on the side... And why can't the size of the search bar adapt to screen resolution...

Edit#9: No Google, I'm not a bot just because I had to start the search a trillion times over because you s*ck so much at even basic tasks !

Edit#10: While I'm at it:
-lack of capability to search for any file type
-media can't be filtered by media category (image / audio / video or any combination of that) and such as custom duration (not the Google pre-defined duration garbage useless píece of shít setting), x / y sizes or something like 480p, 720p etc., codec used etc.
-results can't be filtered by date created / date edited
-incapability of Google to handle dates correctly because custom formats of writing dates may differ from the American system and instead of asking which type the user refers to Google just f*cks up
-no support for wildcards like any DOS search would allow them; no support for special characters either because Google can't into escape sequences
-no language operator to define what language(s) would be relevant as a result (can be read and understood); instead Google just commonly lists languages I can't read and thus can't understand; page translator helps a bit with that but either that should already have page-translated before listed among the results so that I know what the bit within the results list actually contains as text or they can f*ck themselves with that !
-Google still lists video results in the general web search despite there being a distinct video search; So if I'm the user and deciding NOT TO USE the video search it's a DECISION made to NOT look for videos -> videos don't belong into the generic web result list as there's a distinct search option in case I'm actually looking for videos which I most often chose NOT to do ! Get rid of that shít and I don't care that you own youtube that you tried to force the failed Google+ with !
-would like to be able to upload my personal blacklist.txt to toggle on / off per search, containing URLs of pages that I NEVER want to have among my search results, no matter how related they seem, unless specifically and 100% correct called by their URL name (example: youtube, twitter, reddit, facebook, any mp3 page, any translation / dictionary page, any wiki page)
-an option to EXCLUDE offers would be nice: Had it a million times already that I was looking for some technical help with a product I ALREADY OWN (!!!) and due to that business offers would be many among the results ! G-A-R-B-A-G-E ! Annoying garbage ! That's why a "no offers" filter would be nice to automatically enable an anti-relevance bubble to become active and remove all online shops and product offers while looking for technical help for a product.
-News belong into their own category: Much like video results news shouldn't appear among the regular web searches but receive their own category because they're attention whóres at times and sensational, bloating their pseudo-importance even further with comment sections below articles, causing more page relevance due to people using words there, making it hard to search for anything around these terms without getting to the news sites
-Page ranking should be optional to be able to explore the web in a less mainstream way. I don't care how many people use already established sites but want to have a chance to explore new sites, like it's possible with https://wiby.me/
https://neocities.org/ might also be interesting.
-I wish I could stop making Google try to match my search terms against URLs and page titles because those don't matter but only the actual page content does !
-It's an illegal operation to use a word as part of another word and then to claim it's the same and thus this Google behavior needs to stop ! I causes invalid, misleading pseudo-results.
-Ads are never acceptable. They're annoying and may come with malware once someone hacks into an ad server and spreads such with that (already happened numerous times). Donation system > ads. Who donated = no ads for x amount of time. I know that's not optimal either and problematic in other ways but have no better idea at the moment. Crypto-mine browser script for Google instead of donating ?
-Google books results that are enforced need to die immediately ! Have them have their own search section as it's the case with videos and stop pestering the regular users with them and then also making them unremoveable from the search list even with a minus oparator for ISBN !

To those wondering: Sent pretty much the same text but in a more mannered version to Google already years ago on all possible channels to get through to them, even on a company rating an applicant page. They don't listen and s*ck áss and will continue to s*ck áss and that's what's driving me mad about this shít company. Millions of people and responsiblity for that but instead of taking care of such a responsibility they simply don't try to be good or become better. Quite frankly Google's web search needs to die to make room for someone capable of doing internet search right. Due to Google's incompetence there are many specialized searches but no useful general web search as they all try to be like Google: Simple. But then they lack a proper database of web pages, don't explain their operators or blatantly have none to find anything useful either. And worst of all: Just like Google they don't try to improve in such a way to serve what's required, just as listed. TLDR: General web search engines all suck, no exceptions.

you can either use the cheat menu (ALT-F2) and double click on the faction you want to have the focus on

or you just click on the faction you wanna have in focus in the score tab in the top right corner

or you use the console (hotkey depends on your language - http://supcom.wikia.com/wiki/Console_commands info about how to access the console is at the bottom of that page) and use the SetFocusArmy # command
-1 is usually the observer slot so with SetFocusArmy -1 you are observer and with eg SetFocusArmy 0 you get the focus of whatever is army 1 in the game replay

Next problem: For some reason while upgrading the ACU FAF no longer shows the text on the ACU of what's upgraded along with the remaining time. Tried all buttons, looked up F1 help search menu, found nothing, much like garbage Google. Do you know this one too by chance ?

Edit: Or even better yet: Any link to FAF specific hotkeys that aren't listed in the default in-game help UI (like ctrl + shift revealing reclaim values) ?

Edit#2: Didn't find an up-to-date keymap for FAF stuff but fixed the upgrade text not showing issue:
-F1 search for "Notify" reveals that CTRL + ALT + F1 open up the notification menu
-doing so and clicking on the "Overlays" button re-enables the ACU upgrade text
I don't know why or how that turned itself off. Neither did I restore default settings nor is there a hotkey to achieve this nor was I in that menu before. But issue resolved.

you can also access the notify menu with the notify management button https://i.imgur.com/9mW4yQZ.png

don't really know how many things there are that are not rebindable and thus not visible in the keybinding menu but i can only think of a few atm - if you know some more and would like to know the shortcut then just ask i suppose
once i have a decent amount i could create a page on the faf wiki or talk to the devs about some way to show them in game like adding them to the keybinding menu without an actual way to rebind them (since some are defined in the engine)

shift + enter opens the chat window with the allies as receipients
ctrl + shift displays reclaim labels on the map in faf (max amount of labels and min mass can be defined in the options in game)
holding down space allows you to change the camera angle

FAF replays: C:\ProgramData\FAForever\replays

Options to select players:
-score panel double-click on player (F2 to toggle score panel by default)
-cheat menu to select a player (ALT-F2 to toggle cheat menu)

Issues:
1) Played a scenario map alone and in the score panel there's no player to select. Only the amount of units I have is listed. AI isn't listed either. -> Stuck in observer mode / spectator mode. Player- or AI selection not possible via score panel. The Cheat menu has to be used for that.
2) Cheat menu has no option to go back from the selected player or AI to observer / spectator mode.

Using FAForever for replay.

PS: Google still súcks incredible amounts because it just can't stop trying to lead me somewhere where I don't want to go and where it's not any bit helpful. In fact that sole thread I crated out of pure Google hate was on top of the searches after I removed Google's auto-guess garbage trying to lead me offroad.

open the console or cheat menu in replays of coop missions (they don't have a score board cause you have objectives where it would be) to change the perspective
you can go to obs via the cheat menu
setarmyfocus -1 or seomthing along the line should work
ps: if you want to know anything faf related and you can't find it via google then the fastest way to get help would be the faforever discord - discord.gg/hgvj6Af or the faforever irc

Thanks once more. I've tried discord but it's too clunky and bloated for me to be convenient.
