Problems appears after some Windows updates and, especially, after builds upgrades - becouse M$ messed up with Windows Sound Mixer settings (reset and enable ambient sound and switch off pure Stereo 2.0 to 5.1 and above if sound chip support it) and sometimes broken security permissions for userprofile, so game can't create Game.prefs
+ dotnet preview updates sometimes made problem
and december updates in W10 and 11 enabled High Security settings in Windows Defender by default (Controlled access to folders + extra protection to memory (anti-rootkits and encryption ransomware) ) - so most old apps (before 2011) crashed
januar updates also bugged - M$ re-release it twice, becouse it broken L2TP, VPN and RAID functions (corporate users lost acces to RAIDs update made it unusable) and some other things
Publishers and Developers bunkrupt back in 2013 and 2018, IP sold to other company.
No reason fixing things that work almost perfect.
