Supreme Commander: Forged Alliance

For anyone who uses LOUD
is the AI bad or somethin?
it just tends to spam spy planes and patrol boats thye dont really..attack

That sounds like a unit cap issue - What kind of settings did you use, which map, etc.

If you think it's just malfunctioning, if you wish, we can diagnose it for you very quickly. Just join the Discord (link is on the front of the launcher) and drag your replay file, or your game log, onto the bug-reports channel. (The launcher will help you locate those).

I'm there (as are others) and we will be happy to assist you almost immediately.

all right and ill have to like...find a replay i guess lol my unit cap is set to 2k but that might be why

I even did a lowest unit cap for for the funs and never had this. Could be that you set the cheat level below 1.0 so actually giving him less resources?

i had a chat with the guys in the LOUD discord its just apart of there programming to be to keep an eye on you i just wasnt playing good enough for the AI to take me seriously enough to attack me with anything...makes me feel bad lol

That wasn't our intent. As you might imagine, we get a fair number of people that get confused because LOUD won't throw himself at their fortified bases. He'll save those for when he can win that fight - but from their perspective, he's being passive if he doesn't waste himself upon the closest immediate target.

We've gotten replays of this sort many many times - and yours was NOT one of them. If was just a big map - with lots for him to do - and a long way to go until he would be in a reasonable position to attack, so it was very 'quiet' from your perspective. Trust me - he was rather busy.

Either way - it's always good to talk directly with our users, since finding all the 'easter eggs' in LOUD is a lengthy process, and there is a great deal to take in. I'm glad we could help out.

yea someone over ther was talkin to me about it and its fine as i said i just wasnt doing very good wich is fine just means i need to get better to grab his attention

And are there anyways i could set cheat levels to 2 or 3 or may be more without increasing AI Units' Hit Points ? love to fight against many Ai troops but feel annoying that their HP increasing too !! tks guys

NetMax - I would ask what kind of LOUD game are you trying to play where you would need a cheat value of 2 or 3 ? This kind of cheat level usually brings the game to an end inside of 30 minutes.

loudman2 : like town defence, ex : 8 players " no nukes, no tier 3 and 4 artillery ...., i and 2 AIs, ( (sometimes 1) against 5 , use a little cheats on resources, then i helped my AIs 's defence by tier 3 land & air turrets , wall ...., just use my commander no engineers, make the game more harder , then build some experiments units to help them attacked later, love to see guns & rockets firing , locking on target, ... & love to feel some a little nervous with enemy numbers. i changed cheat levels to 2 ,3 , AIs created more units at a time, but their HP too many, and your turret take more time somehow useless, and i dont like to spam more turrets in line as you can, anyways only numbers not HP increase ?

Ok - then LOUD really isn't what you're looking for - you might get the results you're looking for with FAF or the vanilla game, with the Sorian AI. It's much more suited to a 'tower defence' game and you won't see the HP scaling that occurs.

The HP scaling, and some of the other mild cheats that are in play, occur at a fraction of the cheat value, and they contribute to LOUD being more effective at much lower cheat multipliers than other AI. This directly impacts overall performance - the intent being that LOUD can achieve the same impact on the battlefield with lower numbers of units, and all of the bad things that happen with large numbers.

Another aspect of LOUD that works against you for tower defence is LOUD's balancing choices. Compared to the vanilla game, static defence is less effective - and this is intentional, to move the game towards a mobile stance, and away from 'fortress mentality'. In LOUD, this is a subtle, but noticeable shift - and quite frankly, LOUD would look at a tower defence situation and seek a way to completely avoid it until such time as he has no other choice. Unlike previous AI - he's not interested in wasting his units if he's going to lose.
