power generators (not providing power)

I am playing in skirmish mode against the AI. For some reason, no matter how many power generators i create, i never have a corresponding increase in my available power. All of the new power generators i create say they are idle...how do i turn them on?

it has become a real issue because i want to build higher tier units but i can't because i start to run out of power....

you dont have to turn on power generators, they always produce power

i found out the issue, i picked the resource mod (which only gives you a set amount of resources) so no matter what i built it didn't matter....only ACU resource generation counted. i turned off the mod and now everything works normally.
