No steam game version-how to play online

I found an old CD with this game on it, i played it 5 or even moreyears ago but not multiplayer, how can i connect to GPGnet and play online?

something is wrong, app cant find my game, all i have is GasPoweredGames Folder with only empty Mods folder and app on my desktop that runs game, app is from the CDs data and i used it to install the game and then i copied it to my desktop to start it, when i double click it it opens the game client with play uninstall update etc. buttons, it seems to be whole game not the shortcut cuz its directory is on my desktop. On CD its called "autorun", descriptions says"Launches or Installs Supreme Commander". There is also a "Setup" program on CD but i havent used this

if you have retail copy of SC or SCFA you can register key and get both in Steam

So, the serial code-after i typed it i got information that its already used by sb else, is the register key or i have to look for sth else? And why should i buy game once more if i already got it and I won't play it really long time even if i have online mode acces?

retail copy use outdated DRM, that removed in 7 by KB patch (can be uninstalled) and completely removed in W10 - most retail copy now are dead
buy digital copy if FAF not work with retail
no other ways. or stop gaming

I registered my retail DVD SC:FA key with Steam to get SC (non-FA) for free.

Retail DVD SC:FA installation and gaming still work flawlessy on Windows 7 on latest patch level. Nevertheless it could be that I didn’t install the above mentioned DRM KB patch or removed it.

Do you have SC:FA on your computer and can start a campaign? If yes, you just need to tell the FAF client where to find your root FA directory. Just follow my guide.
