How to change keybinds

I just want WASD to move the camera. I never play multi-player, I don't care about hot-keys or APM, I just want WASD to move the camera.

I keep finding posts about editing the GAME.prefs file, but when I found it it had nothing about keybindings, only graphical stuff.

you can't remap those camera movement keys

i recommend you use your mouse wheel to zoom out and move your cursor to where you need to be and zoom in again

Seriously? Bah! That's really annoying. This is one of the few strategy games I play without WASD camera control. :(

That is how I use the camera, I just also wanted to be able to pan the view without having to move my hand from the left side of the keyboard over to the right side. Oh well, old games come with old problems I guess. Thanks.

I wouldn't call it a problem in this case, it was never intended to move camera around like this. The strategic zoom is superior in every way

I meant not being able to change the keybinds, something most modern games let you do. I'm aware it's the better way to control the camera, I just like being able to easily pan the camera as well.

You could download Gooms UI mod that allows you to rebind keys or use AutoHotKey to rebind WASD to output the key that normally pans the map.

I doubt it. I originally Googled UI mods and that mod popped up. A bit more searching shows it may have only been for the original SC. It (or parts of it) may have been ported to FA in a mod called HotStats, but that too seems to be discontinued.

I don't use the mod as I use AHK for my keybinding needs. I was just trying to point you in the right direction.

Ok, well thanks anyway. I recently downloaded LOUD and have been playing a lot, so I've made do with mouse only camera control. WASD panning was just a luxury.
