Reason for Pinkness?
Did a quick search through the forum and saw more people complaining about it than anything so that didn't help...

Don't plan on buying the game or anything... Not too interested but I did look at the screen shots and noticed very vibrant colours... Pink seemingly to be the main theme...

I find myself curious. Is there an in story reason for it?

Just like the Judges in FarCry 5 Deers turned fully white for example but sport pink horns now as they adapted to the Bliss exposure through those 17 years (being exposed to Bliss is usually extremly dangerous to the mental well-being). The second evidence is at the waterfall where you can find the TREE Pax mentioned. All the water comes from this location and was a dumpingground for Blisscontainers. Finally the game also strongly hints that Bliss actually counteracts radiation which is probably the reason why we are sitting inside a radfree Zone surrounded by the silent death.

Well it's called the superbloom that's about all i know i only started playing a few hours ago, maybe they will explain it but honestly i don't think plant lore is high on their list from what i have seen, not like i am far in the story i am just messing around with the animals and A.I in general.

Funny how you don't notice it when playing the game.
Those with bags over the colour pink in the game are wasting their time, it is not a issue.

I mean... I'm more curious than anything if there was an in game reason for it. Regardless I'm not buying the game.

I'm not quite certain if this answers my question completely or not... So the superbloom made a bunch of... Pink flower appear? But what about all the pink on the walls of buildings and what not... Is there a gang roaming the game world with a fascination of pink?

it is just trolls finding a reason to hate on a perfectly good enjoyable game
People were complaining how the map will be a reskin but in reality it is not only if they will just play the game
As for the color pink the cover arts and SS does show pink color and the menus too but it is not as bad as people are saying , listen to someone who played like 10Hrs of the game
There are lots of places where pink color is not used
Mainly bright colors have been used , Pink , Yellow , some orange type-ish
All plants colors which can grow commonly especially after 17yrs of no human interference
They came out 6yrs after the apocalypse though

The lush greenery & vibrant flowers (purple, white, pink) are explained by a superbloom event (which is a real thing) and yes on top of that there is a pink/purple theme. It's not as bad as some are making it out to be, but it is definitely there. In the end it's just a design decision, nothing more. Ubi wanted to give it a different look than the normal brown/gray that's been done too many times already.

Pink, it turns out, is a bit of a thematic color for New Dawn.

There's a .... well, to avoid too many spoilers, I'll say "a very important and unique tree" you find near the end of the main story. At least I think it's near the end, I've just hit that point myself ... :)

It's not like everything is plastered in pink, though. There are fields of yellow and white flowers, as well as the pink ones.

Most of the pink you see is paint on buildings and such, put there by the Highwaymen who seem to delight in the intentional garishness of the paints they use (eyebleed shades of pink, red, blue, green, and yellow). A sort of visual middle-finger to the world around them. :)

And for the player, all that bright paint serves as a handy "careful there might be Highwaymen 'round here" signpost effect.

Yeah basically pink denotes the highwaymen the same as white did for Eden's Gate. And by the same token, there was a lot of white in FC5 but it's not like everything was white. Same with pink & New Dawn.

Because it is pretty.

The simple answer: Color Pigments aren't exactly the easiest thing to come by. In case you hadn't noticed, there are pink and white flowers EVERYWHERE. Basically the most readily available pigment.

From a simple worldbuilding standpoint, there isn't any other color readily available.

That makes an extremely large amount of sense. :)

Color has neither sex nor gender.

Indeed, back in the 1920s and earlier, pink was for boys, and blue for girls.

The bliss theory is probable, I noted in the intro cut scenes the same sort of white fluffy spores floating above the landscape that were present over the bliss fields in 5.
Because we all know post-nuclear apocalyptic world is pink. Common sense I suppose.
