HD textures useful or useless ?

I play in 1920 x 1080, tried to look up other games with HD textures, they seem very split about it. What say you?

I read that calling it HD textures was dumb words, it doesnt refer to 4K at all, so what does it refer to really ?

i can only speak from my experience with fc5 hd textures. my monior only does 1080p and in game i didnt really notice the differance. however when i set a custom res of 2560x1440 in windows then set in game to 2560x1440 i do notice a differance.

my specs ,,,,ryzen 1700 @3.7 , 16g ram , gtx1080

4K is not HD.

4K is UHD.

Everything looks a little sharper. I guess it's only noticable since I have a qhd monitor.

For some reason the hd texture pack for far cry 5 gave me massive fps drops so i wont bother with this games hd texture pack either

In my opinion, if you want it to look beautiful and have the best quality, you should put it at max. If you have a PC that can run amazing graphics, put it at max. If you want it to just run better and you only care about the game play, just edit it to best performance and leave it alone. I like having my graphics to the max (even though I play mostly on console) because it looks better to me. Plus my PC can run extreme graphics settings so it is a huge bonus. It is up to you anyways. In all honesty, you can make it look a horrible as you want and it would still run great and preform amazing.
