EDIT- At first glance of seeing thread title figured it was just someone whining and complaining but after reading here and there in this thread feel i was wrong and editted my thread and saying im sorry for acting without reading just get sick of seeing so many threads bout the game being so horrible...sometimes i just lose it and thats not a right way to react.
I agree its fun...playing well on my machine so far
Slightly would be more appropriate.
DX10 is NOT a factor for the gameplay imo.
Plus the 64 bit executable and DX10 together had much better framerates and stability than the 32 bit DX9 versions. Especially on anything newer than an 8800 GT or any core i5 or i7 CPUs.
No doubt, but I'm still implying the game is perfectly playable without.
Yes, the overall graphics are not ace, but I'm the oldschool nerd that prefer gameplay over graphics and I enjoyed a buttload of hours back then, and doing it again :)
Uhmm I still have the Hellgate Revival installed, and it runs on DX10, and it does look much better. Weird thing: If I make a character in Revival, it loads in the newer steam version... and looks way better, so im extremely confused about it.
I even tried to use the revival patch for dx10 on the steam version but it didn't work, sadly. Still, like I said, I have the revival fan-patched version, and if I make a character there it looks better (both the character and the game), and then when I start the steam version, it still looks better. Its the strangest thing.
I just tried making a bunch of new characters to check I wasn't hallucinating it, and nope, it is a thing, for some reason.
wow the difference is night and day they butchered the crap out of this one.
Even the animations have been dumbed down jeez.
But with that said the stuff they added from the mmo is nice auto dismantle and such.
Throw some screenshots if this is the case. DX10 was not even out when Hellgate was released back then. I remember NO difference to the old release compared to now. I don't recall any animation changes either.
It may have been different in the later patches or when it jumped IP, but I didn't play after that.
I will when i get a chance, Ive been playing at 2038 online , the animations seem the same with this what through me off is single player on the original for blade master has a little different swing so mabey it was just the single player part
and your right dx10 adds nice touchs but not that much of a difference.
its really the textures after playing all night on the original why they replaced them with such crappy ones doesnt make sense.
Thought I would drop this here at the bottom it explains the problems DX 10 brought to the game.
