[Spoilers] Timeline of all games
So I'm planning my annual Life is Strange binge, but never played the second one for obvious reasons.

What is the correct order to play?

I'm planning to play it in this order:

1) Life Is Strange: Before The Storm (Bonus "Farewell" Episode) (Remastered)
2) Life Is Strange: Before The Storm (Remastered)
3) Life Is Strange 1 (Remastered)
4) Life Is Strange: True Colors (Wavelength DLC)
5) Life Is Strange: True Colors

It's not a huge deal, but I'd personally recommend playing 1 before BTS. The prequel feels like it has more of an emotional impact when you know everything that happens to Chloe and Rachel in the original.

It's probably the most controversial/polarizing game in the series, because the story and themes leaned heavily into political stuff.

It's political and I've suffered enough racism in my life to continue episode 2

fair enough, just didn't realise it was universally obvious (clearly i'm oblivious)

I mean the story exposed racists. It really isn't controversial if you're not racist.

All of the Life is Strange games have themes within their stories. This wasn't anything special or new about Life is Strange 2.

I could even argue that Life is Strange: True Colors directly relates and continues on some of Life is Strange 2's themes, specifically on a more "historical" level (I don't want to spoil anything), and that there are also other connections within the game that do revolve around Life is Strange 2.

In addition, I agreed with what Life is Strange 2 was trying to do, but I still thought that even coming from someone that would agree with the game, I still thought it had issues and problems with exploring its themes in a realistic way, as its themes didn't feel realistic enough, and almost felt like a Final Destination movie with some of the sequences that involved its themes, giving a "setup" feel to many elements of the story that did try to explore its themes. I admire what the game was trying to do, but it was just not done well. I still think that it is an overall solid game.

In terms of what order the games should be played in, you can either go in story chromatic order:

Life is Strange Before The Storm
Life is Strange 1
Tell Me Why
The Adventures of Captain Spirit
Life is Strange 2
Life is Strange True Colors

Or you can go by release date:

Life is Strange 1
Life is Strange Before The Storm
The Adventures of Captain Spirit
Life is Strange 2
Tell Me Why
Life is Strange True Colors

In terms of the bonus DLC in Life is Strange Before The Storm, I prefer playing this at least after completing Life is Strange Before The Storm, and I also think that this DLC does have more emotional weight if you complete Life is Strange 1 as well before playing the Life is Strange Before The Storm DLC. If you want to, you can complete Life is Strange Before The Storm, then complete Life is Strange 1, and then go back and do the DLC in Life is Strange Before The Storm as well.

Is Tell Me Why part of the Life Is Strange franchise?

The claim is that the only people who had issues with the game were Trump supporting racists.

lol, that's the dumbest thing i've heard about this game in a long time. No, a lot of people had issues with this game and none of them were trump supporting racists.
This game's take on racial issues is very juvenile.

Okay, tell me what those juvenile takes were without saying anything racist.
Cyborg225 Dec 26, 2021 @ 1:11pm
the random bits of extreme racism for one. mostly the store owner from the first episode and the two guys from episode 4. The comments like "you're why we need the wall" is the kind of crap that children come up with when writing racist characters.

this isn't really a take the game has but it's another virtue signaling type of thing, but just about every non-white character is shown as essentially flawless while most white characters are all either evil or incompetent.

"without saying anything racist." How old are you?

random bits of extreme racism are common in the real world. Comments like "you're why we need the wall" are common too. I'm a visibly transgender woman. Do you know how many aggressively transphobic comments I get a week? Just because YOU don't experience something doesn't mean it doesn't happen.

If you're an adult there is no reason for you to not be aware of these things in real life.
Cyborg225 Dec 26, 2021 @ 2:47pm
lol, it's not common. stories are common, and most are exaggerations.
Don't try to use your condition as a comparison. that has nothing to do with race.
