What are your thoughts on Yakuza 3, 4, 5 and 6 on PC?

I've been seeing a lot of mixed opinions around the forums weather the rest of the Yakuza titles will be ported to PC or not. So I thought it would be an interesting idea to get some feedback and compile all that in one shared comment section.

Personally, I think that we'll get the rest of the titles (at least the main entries, excluding spin offs such as Dead Souls) on PC. From what I've seen so far, SEGA has started to really care about the PC community lately and I don't think they are willing to leave the PC fanbase with only a portion of the games in the series.

I'll go as far as to say that they are willing to release the games in a chronological order, seeing how Kiwami 2 came instead of Yakuza 5 of example (Which runs on Yakuza 0/Kiwami's engine). Who knows, we may even get a HD collection of 3,4,5 seeing how those games are currently being remastered for next gen consoles and even being localized again.


I could ramble all day about this topic but I tried to keep it short. Now if there is someone who would like to give his thoughts on the topic, I'd love to hear them.

I think it's weird they released Zero,kiwami,Kiwami 2 and then Yakuza 6. But have a gap with Yakuza 3,4 and 5.

It seemed like they were trying to get a new audience that never played Yakuza before by making Kiwami/kiwami 2. So it's very strange that the rest of the games can't be played on PS4. Since most people don't want to jump to Yakuza 6 without having played the rest of the games inbetween.

I assumed we were only getting 0, Kiwami, and 6, as they announced with the series coming to PC. To see them skip 6 (for now) and release Kiwami 2 (a game that wasn't part of their announcement for Yakuza on PC) makes me think they're planning to release the series in chronological order, which is what Microsoft is doing with the Halo games.

Of course, what they do with 3/4/5 is the question. They said they were planning a "Western" release for these games, yet no release has been announced. I also imagine that they might simultaneously launch these on PC with the PS4 versions. Similarly, the PS4 ports of Yakuza 3/4/5 all feature full 60fps gameplay for combat and cutscenes, something they only prioritized for 0 and Kiwami for PC...

Have no interest at all in 3,4,5. Zero gave me everything I wanted, and Kiwami \ 2 are their own self contained story (same writer). After the original writer left the devs to their business imho theres no incentive to keep on playing (Kaoru debacle, Majima still not developed - would need a full remake for that alone) plus they're super outdated as the studio was still trying to figure out what to do with the series. I'd go straight to 6, you dont lose anything.

They're not out in the West, so even having PS4 you'll still have to wait until they're at least translated, and by that time I think they'll announce a PC port to go along with PS4 versions.

Just wait and be patient, hopefully we'll get something's at Gamescom\TGS.

I mean, I liked quite a lot of what Yakuza 4 had to offer. Even with it's pitfalls and memes about rubber bullets.

Personally, I would like 3-4-5 on PC because I've never played them on PS3 and I haven't had a console since Xbox 360 2010. They don't need to be Kiwami remakes, I am okay with them in their original form with slight tweaks for PC (support for higher resolution mainly). I would pay like 45-60$ for a collection of all 3.

i bought a used ps3 just to play Yakuza 3-5, having the remastered on pc would cancel my plan to buy a used ps4. used console games are dirt-cheap so yeah,sega, just port over 3,4,5 remastered to pc and get my money,hmkay?

To me it looks like they are indeed trying to release the games in chronological order, which also makes the most sense in my opinion. Why else would they have released Kiwami 2 before 6? I'm pretty sure we'll see the release of 3,4,5 on PC eventually. (Though I believe we'll get Judgement first)

While I own 3,4,5 on PS3 I would definitely double dip! Playing these great games at a higher resolution and at 60 fps would be awesome. As for the price point: 15€ per game would be ideal.
