That's ridiculous!
Not really. Unlike most "AAA" games (which, this is technically one), there is zero extra to buy beyond your initial purchace. How many -- even from Nintendo -- other $60 games in the last few years can say that?
And it probably IS because of Nintendo that this game is $60.
I think your definition of the word "Indie" is flawed in this case.
We have zero idea what deals Square and Nintendo made. Nintendo DID publish the game on Switch outside Japan so it's quite possible that as part of that deal they will not allow Square to have a different price on the PC port (and also quite possible why it didn't get ported to other consoles). We've seen this sort of thing before.
Obviously this is just a guess, but it certainly makes sense.
Now that doesn't really explain why there wouldn't be a sale here, though even that might be something like "outside the initial discount period the Switch one has to be on sale too" or some business.
