Have they changed the respawn of zombies?

If not, does a trainer or mod exist that changes this? I stopped playing because zombies kept respawning and despawning everytime I moved my head. One time, a zombie respawned inside the very same room I was in (and the door/window, etc., was closed). I ruined the inmersion for me (and also gave me a heart attack).

I haven't heard anything suggesting they have fixed this but I'm keeping the first alive (every once and a while).

With enough chatter, someone will hear us!
