Anyone got an updated link? RtCW is going to be one of the next games I test under Proton.
What does that refer to, HB, this "Proton" test?
Also, if you want to play a modern version of "RtCW" with HD sound and widescreen settings, install "ioRtCW".
Here's more information: https://wolffiles.de/index.php?news-862
Funny, I had to think for a second what HB meant!
Proton is a fork of WINE created by Valve that started getting bundled with Steam about half a year ago. Officially, it allows for a handful of Windows games to be played on Linux distros as if they were native ports. UNOFFICIALLY, head over to ProtonDB.com to see that the community has tested thousands of Windows games that run perfectly on Linux thanks to Valve (I myself have had complete playthroughs of Singularity, Quake IV, Battlefield: Bad Company 2, and Doom 3 with Proton, and have gotten CoD: Modern Warfare, Bioshock Remastered, and Arkham Origins to run at maxed out settings with it.
RtCW is certified "Gold" by ProtonDB, (the ranking is Platinum/Gold/Silver/Bronze/Borked), and generally the Gold games require little to no leg work to get running on my part. Plus, I like the games in the series that take place before the Axis wins.

and replace the files, normaly located on
"C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\common\Return to Castle Wolfenstein"
and that's all!, you got on the OPTIONS / SYSTEM / VIDEO MODE : 1920x1080 WS
I did all that and the game goes way off the screen, I feel like I'm missing something in the steps required.
Happened to me too - set your desktop scaling to 100% in Windows and it'll fix it.
