The problem with that is it's jarring to be used to hitting for one damage amount when out in normal areas, only to have your damage cut in half (or more) upon taking on a boss.
It just feels cheap as hell. Combined with the obnoxious 1-shot mechanics that the devs lovingly put into the game... Takes a fun experience and makes it thoroughly unenjoyable in a matter of minutes.
Which is fitting given the game came from Reddit of all places.
It was just explained to you why this is. Bosses are not normal mobs, they are harder to take down than normal mobs, and they usually drop the better loot because of this.
Sorry, but all mobs are not created equal. This is the way it is.
They have a build that can mop the floor with corruption level 200+ mobs in their echos but when they run into monolith boss or dungeon T4 boss they tickle it. This is why builds lack a certain flexibility to do damage to bosses and equal to regular mobs/elites.
So it forces players to make builds that take bosses down first and trash a solid 2nd. Which is boring as hell.
The good news is now that you know that you can start to look into the effects that they do have and how to side step them.
Maybe if I didn't have to ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ grind out ability levels in order to try something else it wouldn't be an issue. I'm sorry though, I'm an adult that doesn't have immense amounts of free time to do such trivial nonsense. I'd rather go play something else that doesn't make me waste hours of my time just to experiment. After all, the devs aren't paying me, I'm paying them.
oh now game is too hard ... lol its not you just suck xD i want see ppls like you play dark souls :)
But going from being able to one shot everything to being one shot is jarring..
I don't enjoy Boss fights in this game.
As for "Lagon" That's probably the only boss on campaign that gives you a taste of decent mechanics, i have seen people discussing tactics such as running with 2k+ HP/Ward which is silly as is, every class has a form of a traversal skill and in that tree you can make yourself immune to damage for a short duration, or blink/teleport past his cold watery beam.
I personally had trouble with this myself when first going through the campaign but soon learned about certain skills/tree's and how i could just avoid getting hit altogether and use cooldown on skills so i can practically use it all the time. Same as "Rebuke" on Sentinel.. i took 0 damage through than entire fight because i just stood still used Rebuke and constantly hit the tentacles with a 1h weapon with leech + hp on hit, literally could not die.
The other bosses like monolith or dungeons that require a key again all require a strategy when fighting, you cant go in expecting to just nuke the boss with raw power.
They are Bosses for a reason .seriously 🙄🙄🙄🙄
