offline not working?

When i try to create a offline character it lets me make it, but any time i try to actually play it starts to load then goes back to character select

yeah, it's weird, i had this same issue during the beta to, was the main reason i stopped playing before, and is the reason i stopped playing this time to.

I hope eventually they make the game actually work.

Yeah, espacialy i never said that i hate the game or something else. I just want to play the game.

Some people had to be the self-proclaimed steam police.

For real. I'm fortunate now that my online characters work (which are my main ones) but if I want to play offline because there is server issues, I'd like to be able to play offline. It's whatever I guess, but it's sill pretty annoying.

Trolling which is really common.
Never re-installed or verified game files.

Other normal stuff you can do. Update windows and gpu drivers, try running it as an admin

Yesterday I was able to just click offline mode and create a character and play, I dont think you need to launch as full offline mode to play offline.

I don't even know where you're getting your data of "MANY MANY PEEPOL" but ok.

i'll give you the easy solution.
refund, unistall or wait for a patch, end of story end of thread.

I can also add to the list of not being able to access the OFFLINE MODE .. can create a character in either new or legacy, but when you try to log into the charaters it loops back to the log in screen... and yes I have verified.. and yes i have tried both choosing offline, or logging in to full offline...

that's a longshot. what windows are you using?
have you tried re-installing? Running as admin?

ok i found solution. but your character save will be wiped
1. uninstall game
2. disable cloud save for this game
3. delete UserName*\AppData\LocalLow\Eleventh Hour Games\Last Epoch
4. install game again,
5. always use "full offline"
6. never try going online
so far i had success, my old characters are gone, but they were about lvl 24
i think its some kind of problem with launching game once in online and/or with steam cloud saves for offline version
also do not forget to back your saves, cause now you have no cloud backups

Not quite.

The only way I can get Offline to work (it refuses to load any offline character) is to pick Online when you first run the game (click "Play Last Epoch" as opposed to selecting Play Full Offline). At the Logins screen I click Play Online. Then on the character select menu, click Switch to Offline. This works for me but results with others may vary. It's the only way I can play Offline characters.

I suspect a flag isn't getting set (or cleared) so when I try and load an Offline character it still thinks I'm online and so it refuses.

if by disabling steam cloud fixed that, maybe the saves are getting corrupted or got corrupted at some point. But then people had issues with creating new characters.

how about instead of doing all these steps we skip some.
disable cloud
delete local saves (backup them in case)
verify game files (what I do sometimes is I delete a small random file just to make sure the verify is done)
then try creating new chars.

my solutions has no "verify files" cause all filed are 100% verified and accurate, its not helping sadly
