This game wasn't designed for Online play
The devs originally wanted this game to be like Grim Dawn and then saw the success of PoE leagues and realized that they wanted to chase that. The issue is that they had already spent years developing a single-player game. I'm no developer or codie, but just deciding you're going to be multiplayer halfway through development is unproductive and just too much work for a smaller team to pull off. You have literally have to rework every system to get it to work online. You guys should've released this game with your original goal of making a kickass, offline ARPG and then spent years POST-Launch adding multiplayer. The game got stuck in some weird purgatory because of this. I would like to thank ProjectPT for explaining all of this years ago when they first announced online play. He literally predicted this based off of rudimentary knowledge of game development.

Did you follow the development of this game? They used to add a bunch of content and it all dried up to get multiplayer functioning. I think you don't understand how much resources this took and how it takes away from the rest of the game. The endgame has barely progressed since I played it years ago, too.

The devs are just greedy, chasing the PoE thing and adding a bunch of cosmetic microtransactions during early access.

Its so funny that they pushed this whole "Bringing back games to when they used to be good" ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥

Also funny that the dev is crying about negative reviews, so unprofessional, he shouldn't even mention them, but he knows it's hurting sales so he cries about it.

Not their fault you can't read a roadmap

They changed the roadmap completely to accommodate the pigeon-holing. I bought a single-player ARGP, I didn't buy an online game. I bought a game that was consistently adding new content to mess around with in SP like werebear reworks, etc and it evaporated for some stupid online I was never for. Many others and I got hoodwinked. The shilling from streamers for this game has been insane since they get a cut if they get a viewer from to buy from the nexus site. Objectivity hasn't existed for a long time with this game. EHG can do whatever and these "influencers" will tell their audience it's great.

You: incapable of understanding that way more resources would've went into systems to make the single-player game( 95% of ARPG players play solo, too) better instead of kneecapping us with MP.

Where did you get this statistic from?
If you watch the forums you will realize that the online mode is important to the majority of people because otherwise there would not so much outrage. People literally refund the game because they can't play online and they are not interested in playing offline *even temporary*...
Koala 4peace Feb 22, 2024 @ 7:31pm
The game was intended to be a live service since kickstarter.
Madao Feb 22, 2024 @ 7:44pm
writes essay about a game that their whole focus was QoL on trading and online play.

Thanks for your ted talk, it sucked

Bro really played the game for 250+ hours and then is complaining he got "hoodwinked" and ripped off. You literally got way more than your monies worth and then some, stop complaining because the game didnt get developed exactly the way you wanted it to. You arent the dev, at the end of the day it isnt your decision and you already got more than what you paid for out of it. Most of us are perfectly fine with the direction it went, especially since a fully offline mode exists

First off you are wrong. You can look at the game's kickstarter to see they planned an online mode like what it currently has, and weren't ever going the way of Grim Dawn. And yes patches stopped while they were working on multiplayer, but that doesn't mean nothing else was done that year, that isn't how game dev works. You think the artists, modelers, designers, etc were all just sitting on their asses while some of the programmers were working on multiplayer? I followed the game since the alpha, and even with that one year of low additions, they have pushed an insane amount of new content and updates over the last 4 years.
