That said if you want a (much) higher frequency of good drops, you do need to run monoliths or dungeons for that. Dungeons start at lvl 20 but require keys. (you can get these mainly from arena or rarely from powerful enemies) Monoliths are lvl 40/50+ all the way to max level and are also basically the endgame. (once you complete the 3 lvl 90 monoliths an empowered aka lvl 100 version of each of them becomes available)
Monoliths around lvl 50 orso. You can start doing these before finishing the campaign, but I really advice getting the desert city in -12BE first, so you can join factions. There's 2 of them and one has to be leveled by killing enemies.
Same as with D3, once you do monoliths and dungeons you will see uniques, exalted, etc dropping all the time.
Yeah I mean, I can get by with the drops I get, but the whole point of these games is the loot. I only really play these for the campaign, not really interested in grinding end game usually, so lack of loot in the campaign is a bit of an issue for the way I personally play. Can't say I remember it being like this in D3 either, but maybe I have just forgotten.
Anyway, today in my session I got 2 uniques and a reliquary so... I guess it is always down to RNG. I am also finding the build I ended up with pretty fun to play, so I am sure that can get me through the campaign and a chance to try some monoliths
So you acknowledge that the primary game loop is getting loot drops, to which all the best are obtained by grinding end game. Seems like that you're looking more of a "one and done" type game with linear gear progression, which is not how Diablo, PoE, GD, LE, etc. are designed.
Sounds like you're playing the wrong genre entirely. Maybe try a RPG game?
First sentence I could back you up on, but ♥♥♥♥ that noise about not wanting a game to be better on all fronts
I very much enjoy the context to the monolith system the campaign gives, even though it could be miles better with a small change to the order of acts.
Well, yeah, why do you think I posted this, I am trying to decide if this game is worth sticking with or moving on. I never said I expected the best loot to come from the campaign, but it at least needs to be enough to make you want to continue.
Why is your reply worded like some lawyer trying to prove a case? You might substituting the games you like for your personality if you took offense at an honest question
