When playing Spellblade, Frostnova and Flame Reave didnt feel satisfying to use, but a build with Manablade and Shatter Strike does. That build doesn't feel weak or weightless to me.
There's a good deal of depth to builds in this game due to the sheer amount of different abilities, extensive skill trees and uniques, so it takes some time to figure out what might go well together.
I kind of assumed that there would be something interesting for most people, but I guess not.
I find that any ARPG that has endgame builds that dont end up using the set or unique items have just designed them badly. Diablo, for all its flaws, designs the interactions between the uniques rather well, LE does this very badly.
There should be no game where a bunch of yellows are BIS for endgame gear.
I find nothing, too.
Wraith necro for example is just a ♥♥♥♥♥♥ version of SRS summoner from POE.
I enjoy D2 combat/classes and POE combat/classes but nothing is fun in this game.
it's just a bad game.
Millions of people play mobile clicker games every day, doesn't make them interesting or even good.
If you have a good knowledge of POE you'll notice pretty much all the skills are rip-offs or reworks of POE skills, except less dynamic and interesting to use. Some aren't even well disguised.
Edit: If you even did that, to begin with, i forgot!
The melee Falconer is probably the most fun build I've played in this game and it's only lv 25. Using Cinder Strike as the core skill to attach Explosive Traps which proc more traps and fire conversion acid flasks to Shred fire res and apply ignite. Cinder Strike also creates burning daggers for easy ignite stacking. Falcon is there to throw even more acid flasks and mark enemies.
Runemaster feels a bit rough, but that's because the core skill I made the build around is Runebolts and I don't unlock that for another 27 passive points. So I'm just kind of winging it for now.
The Paladin build is the same one I've been using since EA with Multistrike triggering Smite and that's a blast visually. Using Holy Aura for Flame Burst and eventually Judgement for a fire Aura that explodes and Siege Banner Javelin to call down even more smites.
The Warlock build is a Necrotic Curse based Warlock using Spirit Plague, Bone Curse, and Chaos Bolts (once I unlock it) to refresh their durations, proc Bone Curse and Harvest, and apply ignite/damned. Fissure for Torment and proccing Chaos Bolts and more ignite/damned. And Harvest for bonus damage on Chaos Bolts.
Edit: what I'm getting at is, open a build planner (I recommended LastEpochTools over Maxroll) pick a class that seems interesting and start fiddling around with skill synergies, then work on the passives to fit your skills. There may be classes (like Sorcerer and Beastmaster for me) that nothing they do works for you and it feels like a chore to make anything fit. Which is OK, just means that class isn't interesting to you. But man, when the pieces start falling into place it's a great feeling. I also don't bother looking at gear when I do this, because I prefer to play solo self found (aside from gold/materials/idols) so I don't trade gear between my characters and I don't want to plan around an item I don't know I'll ever get. But I do check to see if any gear would benefit my build so I can try to farm it once the build is more online, like the unique Sword Aurelis is literally designed for Multistrike and Smite builds, and once I get it can convert Smite to electric to benefit the bonus to lightning damage on the sword. But I don't need the item for the build to function.
i usually enjoy throwing or bow classes the most but not in this game. not sure why but somehow i don't like the bow skills. it may be the animations and hit feedback and / or sounds.
sound definitly needs work, it should sound much more impactfull. roasting sounds for fire and proper explosions etc.
compare lost ark fireballs to LE, you will see what i mean. lost ark effects are so awesome, half the fun is just shooting your skills no need for content :D
You admit that you haven’t found a satisfying build, and yet declare that LE’s combat is not interesting.
An interesting take on objectivity.
I cant help you OP
Yea no kidding lol
Overpower all the things.
