Bot accounts spamming virus links in global chat

Well they disabled family share, since that's where most of the bots were coming from.

The developers disabled Steam Family Share because of that and are most likely to take more steps in the near future.

I think most of them are using random account generation, constantly deleting their accounts and re-making them or something

That's how it is when you don't control your chat.
It goes from
people being annoying -> people being toxic -> people/bots being malicious

thats why one of the first things I did was to disable chat

I mean, I hate such chat spam in general but if its really a malicious link then those who go to it deserve what they get tbh.

I dont use chat, but I opened it the other day when the severs were playing up, and boom CHEAP ....GOLD ...click name hit block job done.

But why anyone is buying gold in this game is beyond me., did I miss the part where in game gold can be used for cosmetics or something

I also don't get it why to sell gold there. Yeah sure there is some use of it but you can't buy much outside of gambling items from merchant. Even then not the best source of good items.

Cheap money. Similar to how people buy Steam points from illegal websites for 0,29 USD per thousand. It does not make any sense to normal people, but such markets exits.

Not the same thign though. People who go to those sites go with the intention to RMT / cheat, they are quite frankly asking for it.

There really is no point to even have chat in this game, so I have it all completely disabled. Anyone I care to know what they are saying will message me on Steam or be in voice chat. General/Trade chat in games is always riddled with useless trolls and dumbasses...
