How do you handle the Aragami named "Havakiri"?
L:S:S: Trying to get a perfect run fighting Havakiri.

I've been trying to perfect solo a certain mission. The primary target is the Havakiri. I find it difficult to fight it since it has that sudden fast attack. 4 in fact. So does anyone has tips on how do you handle that thing?

For this I'd recommend going for guns as your main damage source. A strong R7 gun with two circles on it's element and a fair combination of pierce and crush on it's bullets should do the most damage.

Custom bullets are a must even though you can't replenish those mid fight. I haven't delved in snipers because I'm an assault gun user. But a simple shot + bomb bullet is able to pour some mean damage while giving you enough usable ammo. Or look for custom bullet builds online. There may be some killer combinations out there. Use your regular oracle point bullets (which you can refill mid mission) to weaken and break parts like head and legs (when locking on with a gun, you can still aim up and down), then use the custom bullets to do increased damage to the broken parts. Breaking it's legs reduces it's speed. Breaking it's head allows a lot of damage to come through.

To replenish your oracle points, use long range melee. Scythes are a good choice for that. Just don't use the attacks that root you in place for too long. Add "Relaxing" to the melee weapon to slow the mob's enrage and "Hold" to for the occasional paralyze. "Venom" can also work. Also, if the enemy disengages to go feed, look for a feeding spot yourself to get oracle points for your gun. If planning to use feeding grounds, use a level 5 "Relaxed" skill to speed it up.

At least this may work on the single havakiri mission. The mission with a regular and a fallen version together would be rather tricky to complete.

"Havakiri?" the aragami who literally stops moving and stay "motionless" after every move? I don't know.

Have you tried fighting it solo, no items, no damage taken challenge?

I find spears to be of good used against these sword maiden in jet boots.
Use BAs that allows you to weave in and weave out.

And yes, make good use of shields.

Yeah.. I'm no good with spears.. Never tried them.. I did beat her at last. Though it took me 4 minutes, but I managed to get a perfect run at last.. Just that it's 4 minutes.

I'm so pised at this Aragami. The sudden attack and everything. I honestly find that the Ash Aragami Anubis to be easier to do the perfect run..

I did try with the Buster. +18 Weapon with 1 Blaze Element. Doesn't work well. I tried more than 11 times already. I'm done with that weapon. Currently trying with Scythe. I got so close on a few occasions.

Thanks.
strange. i did it with my without any +1 abandon god arc upgrades, just the standard elemental buster blades. both sky cleave and nemesis are the jump attacks i use on havakiri, either one works fine. when he's down, i just spam dividing edge on him, usually breaking both wheels and blade arms. when hes up you can pretty much flinch lock him to death with either of both jump BAs i mentioned. he is pretty aggressive so you still have to watch out for attack. btw the nemesis BA does a little hop back animation a bit after your character lands on the ground, you can cancel the hop back by jumping right after your character's feet touches the floor. you can even make it really spammable by using it on really short jumps. i choose dividing edge over destruction as me dash BA is because they both deal the same damage on downed targets, but the added distance of destruction makes it a but hard to aim sometimes. both are actually equally spammable. destruction is better for hit and run, but i don't feel that need for hit and run tactics.

full big laser charge if you want easy mod: lock on-> fire-> run around

In my case, you'll just have to tone down your aggression when fighting this weird samurai lady on wheels. She has really fast attacks but most of them, once she's done she just stands still for a bit.

Patience is your best friend in fighting her... Well, that or just use Heavy Moon and grind her wheels to dust XD

Jump and hit it´s head. The attacks on ground won't hit you and the jumping attack is telegraphed for long enough to allow you to block or dodge if you got shortsword. Everything else you just wait the thing finish what it´s doing and there will be a pause at the end. Don't try to devour from ground, the pause is not long enough to allow the devour animation.

Haha. I mostly groaned when I saw the target list. I never liked fighting that thing.

There are 3 different types of category that I use to classify Aragami attacks.

-Reaction: attacks that can be avoided without thinking about it prior, you can react as soon as you see the animation and you will have enough time to dodge.
-Anticipation: attacks that you need to know what to do as soon as you see the tell or sign, you won't have time to think of an action but you will have enough to perform the action you already have in mind because you anticipated it.
-Prediction: attacks where there are no tell or sign, you will have to predict what the next attack is going to be and start doing your action before it starts attacking.

If you move behind the Havakiri when it's about to finish it's current attack, you can assume that the next one will be a 180 swipe towards you. If you're lucky it will target someone else but that's a chance you're gonna have to be willing to take.

So alongside what everyone else has said, my recommendation is to shoot as much as you can and do melee hit and run with the hit phase being as short as possible.

Start off by unloading your gun into the boosters at the legs and break that part as soon as possible. Keep shooting until you can't shoot anymore and then go in for the melee to recover your OP when it's relatively weaker and more prone to getting downed. If you're having trouble trying to melee because it keeps moving and it's not getting downed, use traps or stun grenades to momentarily hold it still.

PS: You can also use Sun Tzu's the art of fighting without fighting and do my lazy coward tactic of letting my NPC teammates fight it while I go collect the materials around the map ・ᴗ・

The only right way to play story mode.

Now that I have 30+ weapon. Seem like the easiest way to deal with it is just break the head with custom sniper bullet and keep hitting its head with aerial BA. That thing have really low downed threshold on head part so you can literally stunlock it to death if you have enough damage. HM's Lunar Orbit seem to be pretty good at doing that.

Well, everything is hillariously easy with 30+ weapon anyway. It hit like a ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ truck.

You got to the same conclusion as most people. So thank you for putting out of your way to say this. This is the info that most people needed to know. I appreciate it.

To deal with fast dangerous enemy for Perfect Runs, it's better to deal damage through gun attacks. I went with Sniper so that's not a good choice, unless you can aim for their weakpoints to stagger them every single time. Best way to go about this is having the Assault or Shotgun to stagger them slightly every time.
