Why the terible optimisation?

Well, the game will play kind of badly if you don't have a good graphic cards and you can forget about recording the game with an AMD graphic card even if it's a good one.

Probably what gets me mad is how many frames you lose in certain areas of the game considering this is 2010 torchlight graphics

no frame drops here, but in 4k this thing heated up my 2080ti like a MF

i have "played" 40 minutes and within that 4 minutes the game has become unplayable 3 times. the display freezes, the sound is working and i can hear my characters talk for dialog and move in the open area, but there's no reason for it to freeze on me.

i have a gtx 1070, and an i7-9700kf cpu. specs way above what the game asks.

Can you remember where you were or what you were doing at these times. It may help us track down why this happens to you.

I can agree the game has optimization problems.

I have a Ryzen 3900X, 2080Ti and 32GB RAM - but despite these good specs I had noticeable slowdowns and frame drops in many places.

While for me the game remained playable and never crashed.

The game uses 80-90% GPU memory of a 2080Ti (which has 11GB) in 1440p on High. I find it very hard to believe this game needs 10GB of memory. This must be an optimization issue or memory leak.

Yeah, this game is heating up my GTX 1070ti over 72c. This shouldn't be an issue. Optimization is pretty poor.

And you really need some more graphic options. I don't want my video card to run constantly in the mid 70c temperature while playing your game. You barely have any graphic setting options.

Yes the Game has an horroble optimization . It doesn´t matter what graphics settings yout take.

My System:

Core i9 9700K
32GB Ram DDR 4
Geforce GTX 1080Ti

The game is stuttering between 20 and 60 fps and the game grafics are definitely not highend.
The game is simply not optimized.

We are of course trying to hunt all the cases that are possible for optimization still as often as you report them. But as you have likely noticed from comments there is big difference between some systems, some people having performance issues even with high end systems while others having none with systems that should have less performance. That is something we of course try to figure out and patch to give you as good experience as possible. If you can point out more specific points, that'll help us troubleshoot those and focus on fixes in upcoming patches.

So I have try the following:

-deinstall of the game and reinstall
-after that i run the Steam Intgretycheck
-reinstall the graphics driver and reinstall
-all the points above has no effect. Game runs between 20 and 60 fps. The lowest fps is at the render scenes
Last point I try out a older graphics driver. Has no effect.

my guess is that the game freaks out if you skip cutscenes or start a new game and move fast/skip stuff because i actually broke the game a few times like this.
For example: the dream part where the girl gets her powers was totally dark for me, a black fog of war remained even when i moved.

So...memory leaks or maybe some levels are built in a bad way but definetly try to start a new game a couple of times and move fast through the first levels and you will see.

Also, the end mission on the ship, the sail away icon was missing for me a game, that game had terible performance so it's somewhat tied
