Be honest to me, is this an RPG or more of a puzzle game?
As the title says, is this an RPG in the vein of Pillars of Eternity, Divinity or Pathfinder, with a fully fledged story and freedom to role-play you character however you want + combat freedom to solve an encounter however you want...

...or is more of a puzzle game like Into To Breach or Druidstone with a kind of predefined solution and you have to find the perfect preferred order of actions?

I'm asking because all the footage I've seen seems to indicate the second case is the most likely.

Agree for Puzzle Game, no RPG
I absolutely LOVED Druidstone, so if this game is anything like that, then I'm all in. But, one review said there is absolutely no gear in this game. You can't change weapons, armor, etc. or buy things at a store. So, it sounds like a puzzle combat game only, with no RPG elements.

And there's no problem with that! I'm sure a lot of people enjoy these kind of games.

However, I believe it should be made clear what the game is really about. Personally, I'm looking for an RPG and it seems the game is being presented as one - and that's a little bit deceiving.

The game is not a full fledged RPG, it is a tactical combat game with some RPG elements. But definitely not an RPG! If I understood correctly, steam tags will sort themseves out by time and player feedback.

If you are solid RPGer and unsure, I suggest to check some of the videos there are on web with people playing the game. They give quite a good impression.

I'm big RPGer myself, my top favorites including games like DOS2, Pathfinder:Kingmaker (and not RPG but Crusader Kings 2). I still enjoy the puzzle like very tactical combat that has lots same vibes as dos2 but with different twist. Of course I am one of the devs so I'm very biased and therefore checking videos is good.

RPG is lots there because its really hard to put category to this kind of game and actually during our beta tests we tried to help the thing by asking our community beta testers on what genre they would place the game and majority included RPG in there. Likely for really hardcore RPG fans that can be misleading and you might be missing some things, but let's play videos or streams are good way to get idea if you might like it still :)
Alright then. Thank you developers for sorting it out.

Even if it is not what I expected, I may give it a try. Steam tags can often be misleading. The game is still clearly a work of passion.

I wish you good health and many sales, haha :)
