Unfortunately there are no current plans for Italian support. :/
It is always hard one to pick the languages to be included with limited localization budget.

We have been considering the community translation, which might help us cover some of the other languages that our community would love to have as well. But of course it'd need additional level of language QA for those languages as well and other related coordination.
That option is something that we have been discussing though, but not made any concrete final decision yet.

But currently it seems that there will be no Italian localization.

Let me explain you:

A lot of software houses (except the very big ones) do not spend money in italian localization because Italy is a country where videogames are harder to sell. Especially those that are not AAA / extremely popular franchises.

Translation is all a matter of cost and profit. They make market research about this and if their statistics tell the company the translation would cost more than the profits in a given country... they will not do it.

In the case of Italy, this happens a lot if you notice. The reason is simple: most italian gamers are not interested in the Indie / AA scene and so those games do not sell as much as the other countries. Mainly because italian "gamers" maily play COD / PES / FIFA and other assorted trash.

I know about this very well because I was in the game localization industry for quite some time and actually translated several games in italian from English.

On a personal side note i want to add: Italian education might be garbage but that is not an excuse to not know English at least at a decent level in 2020. I myself learned 80% of the English i know by myself from playing games and having online chats in that language. Ultimately it is your fault for still not being able to understand English at a reasonable level in 2020. Not the fault of developers.

Now let me translate this in italian for those that do not speak English well enough:

In italiano:

Molte compagnie, eccetto le più grandi, non investono nella localizzazione italiana perchè in italia i giochi appartenenti alla scena Indie / doppia A (AA) non vendono bene come nelle altre nazioni. Questo perchè la stragrande maggioranza dei "gamer" (con le virgolette) italiani gioca solo a FIFA / COD / PES e m*rda assortita.

E' una questione di costi e ricavi. Se vedono che il profitto non copre il costo per una particolare nazione / lingua, non traducono.

Ovviamente le compagnie fanno ricerche di mercato e calcolano sulla base delle statistiche quanto venderebbe il loro gioco, fanno delle cosiddette proiezioni di vendita. In molti casi non localizzano in italiano perchè non ci sarebbe un profitto rispetto al costo.

So di cosa sto parlando perchè per un bel pezzo mi sono occupato io stesso di traduzione di giochi dall'inglese all'italiano.

Una nota personale: anche se il sistema educativo italiano fa schifo e lo sappiamo tutti, non è una giustificazione per non sapere l'inglese neanche ad un livello quantomeno passabile nel 2020. Io stesso ho imparato l'inglese all'80% tramite giochi e chat in quella lingua nel corso del tempo. Alla fine dei conti è colpa vostra se non sapete l'inglese perchè i mezzi per impararlo decentemente ci sono. Quindi smettiamola di incolpare gli sviluppatori cattivi che non ci traducono i giochi nella nostra lingua.

I am very sorry that games like these are not translated into Italian. While I see languages that are notoriously unknown to most people, they are translated very well, I don't want to investigate the choices that the developers follow to decide to translate a game but it is certainly a fall in image not to translate for a language of a country like ours and therefore I will not buy never a game if not translated into my language, I believe that my money is the same as that of other countries and if I have to buy a game AT FULL PRICE I WANT THE TRANSLATION IN ITALIAN OTHERWISE I DO NOT BUY ANYTHING.

Sai come si dice a pensar male si fa peccato, ma spesso ci si azzecca, sono anche io molto vicino alla tua posizione mi sembra molto strano che alcune lingue vengano sempre e dico sempre tradotte guarda caso germania e francia e altre con pari mercati vengano ignorate.

Non mi interessa la posizione di tutti i BM che cominciano a dire devi imparare l'inglese o altre amenità del tipo loro hanno un mercato piu' grande, io ho la mia opinione come loro hanno la loro e non la cambiero' certo per loro.

Anche perchè spesso proprio questi personaggi sbiascicano qualche parola in inglese e si sentono già dei traduttori, mentre non sono neanche capaci di parlare correttamente la loro lingua madre.

Per piacere evitate repliche puerili e patetiche, se non funzionali all'argomento in questione, che possano davvero aggiungere qualcosa che possa non convincere me a desistere dalla richiesta di traduzione ma bensì a convincere i traduttori a riprendere in considerazione questa traduzione in italiano, come del resto è l'argomento di questo thread. grazie
