Can't found religion or create Great Prophet

So It's turn 300 in Marathon, I have 1500 faith and still have not been given a Great Prophet to found my own religion (still worshiping a pantheon). I just built the Leaning Tower of Pisa and forced myself to get a prophet that way, but he can't do anything but build a holy site, there's no option for founding or enhancing a religion or spreading one. He can however build a holy site, but this is entirely useless if I can't use faith for anything. Considering I'm getting 30+ faith a turn this is a bit of a kick in the nuts. Anyone else have this problem?

there will always be more civs on a map than religions that can be found. this is coded in the game. normally when you receive the pop up that a religion has been founded, it will show you how many religions still can be founded. Anyone can found a pantheon though

Hello Sunken!

I think I'm having the same problem (but I'm not sure).
When I get the prophet I can choose the symbol to enhance a religion (http://support.2k.com/entries/21810647-How-to-Found-a-Religion-and-Enhance-Religion).
BUT - when the window pops up which offers the religions and I've choosen my symbol, I can't confirm it by pressing the button on the lower right.
After that I can't go on with the game, because the prophet is used an a religion has to be choosen then. The only way to get out was to load the latest saveame and build a holy site.
I wrote to 2K support and got an answer that didn't help - Verifying GCF: https://support.steampowered.com/kb_article.php?ref=2037-QEUH-3335&l=english

I tried this and I also started a new game and re-installed CIV - still having the problem :(

you might need to "open up" your sql ports so others can get in ( )0( ) and see what's going on with it

I solved the "problem" - I didn't choose the options on the pop-up-window. That wasn't clear for me!

I have the same problem as Pillepalle after playing the game whit out problem many 100 of time sudenly i can t confirm by pressing the button on the lower right.
I have re-instaled and installed CIV on anoder computor stillhaving the problem

Don't forget you can only use your Great Prophet to found a Religion when he is sitting in your capitol city. Also the amount of faith needed to generate a GP depends on how many Religions are currently active/ have already been founded.

... or you might simply have a bug/corrupt save file from the recent patch ;-)

Have you tried it the way I did? On that window with the disabled button you habe to choose the skills of the religion on the left side. After you did this - the button will be available.
