how to stop Civ 5 era advancement

How do i stop era advancement so i can just play in Classical Era the entire game? I cant seem to find it in Advance Settings when i set up a new game. Ive read that if you select/deselect the SCIENCE button this will work, but it doesnt seem to for me. Im running the vanilla DLC only.

I have this but it keeps crashing on startup. im sure its my laptop, being limited. is there any other way i can do what im trying to do w/o the Really Adv Setup? Or, is there something i need change in settings etc. to get the RA Seteup to work?

Thanks for these. Ive got all of these era enhancements, which are great but I think MY problem is a conflicting MOD and a computer used for spreadsheets. I also have Windows 10 running (poorly at that).

Try the Bloublou'era mod of your choice alone, as the only enabled mod. Select and check only "Classical Era" for instance. No other, NONE! To see if it's responsible of your conflict. It shouldn't. I have been using those for years without one single problem. Safe and fun.

still not working. Ive already uninstalled/reinstalled Civ5 again and im beginning to think this game is not as fun as it used to be due to all the random bugs and map crashes.

the era mods suggested are for gods and kings don't seem to work for vanilla as the questioner asked ?
