Grenade launcher stock
I thought Matilda's stock was a waste of space, but now playing Claire A on HC I see absolutely no reason to use the grenade launcher stock (used it on her standard playthrough).

You're never thrown into engagements where the minuscule trajectory difference has any significant impact on accuracy. Pity, because the launcher looks badass with that stock.

Matilda's stock is good for boss fights but GL stock... Bosses are big enough to hit them even without it.

Ar we talking about the small change of reducing the reticule are to its one-twentieth, making it an accurately aiming weapon?

Suppressor reduces recoil, and this is what turns MQ into boss killing machine, especially with extended mags. Don't know how it's irrelevant.

I agree, that supressor allows you to fight bosses at safe distances. Good for players who are bad at reading enemy movesets.

Smg upgrades are the only relevant thing for Claire. I would just toss m79 away if game offered me 200-300 more smg rounds for it. Hell I will take 150 just give me faster aiming time as a bonus as well.

It's still accurate enough for any engagement. Which is why I seriously question its usability. If it at least helped reduce reload speed, it would make it somewhat useful.

The suppressor is great.
- lower recoil
- no alerting lickers
- no attracting Mr.X

'I don't like the item so it must be for bad players. My self esteem is now way higher'

Well, both SMG upgrades are useful though bad players would profit more from them.

^^ Ok, you guys all convinced me that I should not call the supressor "irrelevant". Thing is, though, I want to do no-item box runs soon and I really have to decide which extensions really warrant giving up another item slot.
I'd say suppressor is definitely worth it for Claire since it blatantly makes you more effective, and makes licker encounters much safer.
nade launcher stock - no go.

For Leon - probably only the magnum barrel for the damage, but you can probably do just as well without.

Hm... I would prefer faster aim for Magnum.

The barrel slows down aiming? I never noticed

I felt that it slightly increase recoil.

A box-less run would be SMG-less anyway, so I think the argument there is moot enough.

What gives? You don't need to open any boxes to get the SMG
talgaby Feb 6, 2019 @ 5:24am
Yes, but to get the SMG, you need two more item spaces (weapon and ammo). Speedruns already showed us that you can easily kill even the B scenario boss rush without the magnum or SMG, even on hardcore, so why would you spend two inventory spaces to get the items needed to get those weapons and keep those occupied with the weapon itself?

Must be pretty dramatic run. It can always be done on standard where the player has a lot of inventory space. I had (Claire) starting gun, the gun from the police car, nade launcher, and smg on my boxless run + I took the minigun at the end too. All upgraded because I can. Only thing I skipped was the spark because seriously ♥♥♥♥ that pos. Can't even reliably kill a zombie.
