This, the locations are the same just the hid pouches they were simply walk up and pick up are all gone only the ones behind safes and containers remain.

Simply put, they removed the three pouches you could just pick up without doing anything. Now it is only the one in the west office safe, the one in the armoury where you need both spare buttons to access, and the final one in the lab, the nap room where you must restore power first with a modulator.

This is one of the reasons I find it dumb when people recommend hardcore as a starting difficulty, limiting players to 2/3 of the inventory in a game about inventory management.

The one in the armory is kind of not for S run.

It is doable, but you have to really know the route and must not mess around trying to clear zombies, just run past everything. You can even do the backtrack to the RCPD from the sewers and get the "treasure" and still make it inside S+ time. The mandatory route is around 70 minutes long without glitches.

I got the one in the safety deposit room on my S+ run, the only one I skipped was the one in the labs because I was cutting it close on time.

I skipped armoury entirely on Leon B to get a little more time

Nothing dumb to it. The original game only gave you 8 spaces. 2 extra if you grabbed the pouch but then you couldn't use it on the other character. This game gives both characters an extra 6 spaces nearly double the inventory even on Hardcore. With the only thing that kind of makes up for it being that your weapons end up taking double space if you upgrade them.

Or that there are much more enemies and their health is higher. Or that there are crafting mechanics now. Or new key items. Or the fact that you need more healing for the first run since zombie grabs drop you to danger and their grab range is the highest out of all RE games.

The original didn't have upgrades, sub-weapons, gunpowder, window boards, there were far less weapons and key items. Lemme know if I forgot something.

The original did have upgrades at least for Leon. The boards are almost pointless anyway. And yeah I guess sub weapons are nice so that helps forgive the extra 6 spaces. I still think 4 spaces extra on Hardcore would have been plenty. Most speedrunners end up doing that anyway since armory one takes too long to get.

Just to said, in Hardcore mode, you can only get 3 pouches (2 in Police station, 1 in Laboratory)
