What is the point of the Summon Sädekivi perk?

I never understood why anyone would take this perk. Why does it exist?

It's a quick and dirty way to dig back up to the top. More generally, it's probably there just to dilute the pool with a lackluster perk.

It always triggers as soon as I take the perk. How do you use it elsewhere?

you need one of your item slots open to pick it up. i've had it trigger immediately too.. not sure why
