I still think you're dead wrong on this one.
Noita's magic is really dangerous. You learn this immediately. The moment you get your first firebolt or sawblade, you learn that you can easily blow yourself up in Noita. There's a lot of friendly fire in this game.
If I could make one change to the spells, it would be to give the shops a stock of 1-6 of each instead of just 1. Of course, you would have to buy each copy. Like, one Energy Sphere with Trigger is nearly useless but 4 of them could be decent.
So it's the vicious cycle where they don't get new spells to experiment with and die to difficult enemies. Or they find one sometimes, and immediately experiment because they want to have fun and die.
By the way, there's usually at least 5 wands in the first stage, and almost always 3 health pickups. The game seems more random that it actually is.
The game is perfectly fine as is, you learn something every time you die.
