The emerald tablets.

These things are really interesting. There is five of them in total hidden throughout the map in various places. Let's speculate on what they could be.

To the right of the first mine is a lava pool with bones and Tabula Smaragdina on the left.
If you cross the lava pool you get to a large deep pit surrounded by indestructible rock.
At the bottom of the pit you can go left into the snow level.

Secretorum Hermetis is in the tree all the way left above ground, you can dig up to the table from under the tree.

Emerald Tablet X and orb (Cement) are WAAAYYY down beneath the desert and to the right.

Tablet of Thoth and orb (Earthquake) are on top of the pyramid.
(Stay above ground and head right.)

The right (indestructible) wall of the desert has a ??? room above it, in the box is the Essence of Light perk.
(it shoots a circle of bolt around you every few seconds, they do self damage so it is bad)

Emerald Tablet IV and an orb (Necromancy) are at the bottom of the Sand Cave (under the pyramid) in an orb room.

Well from my knowledge they have no use implemented yet but I may have a guess for what they could be.

So have you by any chance played spelunky? If so you'll understand what I mean. So if you have gotten to the level called hell the emerald tablets and respective orb spells could lead to something similar in nature.


Now for those that havent played spelunky and have no idea what I was talking about.

It's basically a hidden true ending level you could get to only by doing certain things that were centered around ancient egyptian mythology. You had to get a few items, die and resurrect stuff like that. Do you see where am I going with this? Well my thoughts on how will this work if it's going to be a thing are:
-Get all the tablets in one place
-Get the essence of light perk and not die
-Resurrect a powerful enemy (my guess would be the god of the shop if that's even possible)
-Use thunderstorm, cement and earthquake in some particular order

You can at least be "award for your curiosity but ..." on the floating island at start with gold nuggets
From my knowledge, they all unlock new spell in the pool for (next ?) run...

The Tablets can be placed on the floating island shrine above the mountain for free cash.

IMO the Tablets themselves will not gain a use beyond this, BUT the information on them is a different story, for figuring out this game's overall plot/lore as well as other secrets.

Well thanks for that. Btw have you discovered the one IN the lava lake. Not next to it bu the one inside of it. Supposedly it turns everything on the map to solid gold.

I knew that you could bring them to the floating island for cash but they could have more uses, like the one I said. And about the lore yeah it's hella usefull.
Also a secret level other than the pyramyd would be cool. If there isn't one I have no idea about.

I doubt there are any other uses, as that floating island was just added in a recent patch as far as I know. I could be wrong though, hope so.

The tablets have 3 uses that i know of.

1# The floating island for $100-$400 worth of gold,
2# You can use them as a physics death on enemies for double gold drops,
3# they instant kill the lich (from angering the gods) on physical impact.

As for unlocking more spells that is the orbs

I think there are 13 tablets, I'm up to 10 right now.
As far as I'm aware, there are 10 spell orbs.

Tablets tell you about alchemy, you can make some weird stuff in this game, but the process of doing so is annoying to figure out.
(lively concoction and alchemic precursor formulas are based on your world seed and the date...)
