If you want actual Control Ultimate Edition, the new build of the game with DLCs, the only way have to remove what you currently have from your Steam account, and buy it again.
Obviously I can look through SteamDB, but considering we've already encountered one deliberately-mislabeled version of the game, I'm not sure what I can trust. I guess what I'm asking for is an answer from someone who a) is 100% sure they have a real Ultimate Edition install, and b) knows enough about Steam internals to be able to suss out what sub ID(s) they have so I can cross-check them against my own list.
https://steamdb.info/app/870780/depots/
Ultimate is 870781, standard is 870782. Both are sub ids to the base game id of 870780 which is why this whole problem exists.
Excellent, thanks for the tip. I did some poking around and found sub ID 275147 (which I own), and that appears to be the real deal since it contains the two DLCs. I couldn't find anything that specifically references "Expedition" in the subs, apps, or depot filenames, but I did find a couple of filenames with "photo_mode" in them. I guess that's probably the best I'm gonna get, unless 505 and/or Remedy suddenly show up in this thread to untangle the mess they made. :)

For anybody who doesn't quite follow the above, is curious, and has ArchiSteamFarm, you can run the following to see if you have the above sub on your account. If ASF says you own it, you should be good to go. If it says you don't...that might be a false negative 'cause you might have the full version via a different sub ID. Yeah, it's confusing and lame. Blame 505 and/or Remedy for being deliberately misleading during this entire process.
