Tommasi keeps killing me. Tips?
...this is getting kind of old. :-/ In the Communications Department, trying to get to the Hotline, you meet the guy who can fly. Anything I throw at him with my new telekinesis powers, the guy dodges. But I can't dodge or block anything he throws at me.

If I keep moving around in the open, I can get a few hits in with the gun before I'm dead.
If I hide behind stuff I can hit him a TON of times with the gun, and take out multiple waves of minions, but eventually a mistake or two is enough to get me killed.

...Over & over. Getting bored. So if telekinesis can't hit him and the gun seems to have no effect,... I'd appreciate any tips.
(Besides 'git gud'. We know, you're an amazing player.)

Maybe there's some key object in the environment that I'm supposed to use, ...or maybe there's some important gun or armor upgrade I missed earlier?

Your best friend, for the moment, will be Launch. Yes, if you use it the way most people think you have to, this will kill you because Tommasi will keep dodging. However, if you Launch something at him almost the same second you pick it up, it will often hit him - especially if it is coming from behind him.

This is probably the toughest fight until you get access to a couple of the optional areas (such as The Pit) or start encountering Troopers/Distorted on a more regular basis.

After he dodges your initial launch, you can quickly launch something again right after and it'll hit him. Doing this, along with the combination of crouching behind cover and shooting him a couple of times after the launch hits him makes the fight be over in a minute

Thanks!
and... LOL, I was so focussed on him that I missed seeing his health meter at the bottom of the screen --- honestly, who puts a health meter at the bottom for an enemy that's near the top of the screen --- so then I could see my gunshots were having a tiny effect that I could track. Without noticing that bar it seems like he must be impervious to bullets.

Managed to hit him enough to get him to move to another room. Will keep going. Thanks.

Go in the upper part, in a corner, you can cheese it from there.

Or if you like me and have the charge weapon mod shoot that at him then throw something at him or vice verse

The easiest time to shoot him with your gun is while he is standing still and gathering big chunks to throw at you. You have enough time to do maybe 20% damage to his heath in one go. Stand close to a pillar and just move behind it when he throws (he will always throw from your left first).

Trust me Op first time I played this game,he handed me my butt again and again.I would come back fresh and get him.But yeah I would launch at him anything as fast as I could, and I would make sure and kill all the ones shooting at me to get health.

Spam the dodge ability if you have it to get away to

I must have got lucky because I never once hit him with a launch object. I hid on the left stair case and every time he threw something it would hit the structural beam or the guard rail by the stairs. I only used launch to get him to move and then I would unload a gun clip in his direction. I mean you have unlimited ammo so I played smart.

Just watch for little ground guys coming up the stairs. I would peak down every few seconds and just launch them with an object from behind. I only died once before I tried this and it worked for me.

Headshots. Throw stuff at him when he's ready to throw stuff at you. Don't forget to use weapon mod.

He's not even a boss, just slightly tougher regular enemy that you'll fight a lot down the line.

Tomassi is kind of the gatekeeper for what the game expects out of you. Enemies will hose you in attacks and charge you from every direction. The only real way to stop this is to keep moving and capitalize on when they cannot see you. The enemies in this game work like they do in FEAR: They will react to how you move and counter you, but if you throw them off then they act pretty stupid.

You can cheese Tomassi by sticking behind a pillar and shooting him when he is not moving or when he attacks. As other people mentioned, for some reason if you spam your abilities hard enough he can't dodge it. The hardest part about this fight is that you barely have any upgrades by the time this boss fight happens.

I hid behind a pillar just using the gun on him and launch on the adds.

Being one of the more tougher first encounters I understand your pain. I was frustrated initially, but it took me five tries. I suppose my best suggestion would be launch an object at him once, he dodges then QUICKLY launch a second item at him again, and it will hit. Also, you MUST keep running around in circles non-stop. Also try to remain on the ground level, I used the stairwells just to avoid being within direct line of sight. I recorded my final attempt only and posted it to YouTube. Took me just under 4 minutes total. Also, for personal mods, I like to have fast energy recovery and high percentage of health replenishment per health picked up.
