I wanna buy one of them, which would be best to play? Does it matter if I start on one or will 2 be a better deal for my money?

Hitman 2 has the Legacy Pack which allows you to play through Hitman 1 in Hitman 2 carrying across unlocks between games levels and including all the Hitman 2 mechanics not in 1.

Pick up Buy Hitman 1 (since it's on sale and the legacy Pack isn't) but play it through Hitman 2 as owning Hitman GOTY Edition gets you the Legacy Pack for free in Hitman 2, you can even play it while only owning the free starter pack if you can't afford to buy Hitman 2 as well.

Buy Hitman 1 because it's cheaper and Hitman 2 is just Hitman 1 with different maps. Hitman 2 isn't bad but it'll save you more money this way. If you enjoyed Hitman 1 buy Hitman 2 on next sale.

Hitman 2 is currently on sale for the cheapest it's ever been at $25 for Gold (which is normally the $100 version)

The best deal is to buy both while they are on sale.

Hitman 2016 GOTY Edition Bundle will give you the GOTY Legacy Pack as DLC for Hitman 2 which can then be played for free with the free Starter Pack or integrates fully with Hitman 2, which is also currently on sale

Both games together is the first and second part of a 3 part story (with the third in development)

I adore both games, however the story of Hitman 2 does, somewhat, continue on from Hitman 1 however you do not need 1 to enjoy the other. If you prefer the story driven part of a game I would go for Hitman 1 then invest later into Hitman 2, but if you prefer a more diverse game play style with more to do I would go for Hitman 2. :)

Hitman 2 Gold plus legacy pack is the better buy in the long run. You will have hundreds of hours of content there. 25 dollars for gold is such a good deal. Game is great, I bought Hitman 2 gold last summer sale for 45 dollars and it was worth ALL of that money.

Gold + GOTY legacy pack= everything. It's not that complicated. Some people are just easily confused and need every little thing explained.

Hitman 2 is the way to go. Buying Hitman 2 will allow you to purchase hitman 1 for less, and it will let you play all the missions in Hitman 1 via HM2. Its essentially two great games in one package.

This is probably explicitly clarified in some of the threads about the confusing mess that is purchasing Hitman, Hitman 2 and all the related DLCs, but I'm still unsure about one thing. Now that I have Hitman 2 Gold + GOTY Legacy pack, is there any reasion for me to keep Hitman 1 installed and play any missions/campaigns though it instead of utilizing the legacy pack with Hitman 2? Will I miss any content? I'm asking because I'm getting short of free SSD capacity, and it would be a big help to get rid of Hitman 1 without missing out on anything.

There are a handful of escalation missions in Hitman 2016 that aren't present in Hitman 2, but beyond that feel free to uninstall.
