Mac and Linux versions?
The port of the previous Hitman game was the tipping point where I could finally justify moving to Linux. Will there be a Linux port for this new game? And hey, Mac users probably like Hitman too.

It says windows only for now. Wouldn't surprise me in the least if it stayed that way. The people behind this game are complete sellouts with draconian DRM/online restrictions and taking 2 bleein' years to add a ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ suitcase, then calling the game Hitman 2 when there's already a Hitman 2. And then all the DLC cancer.

I bought the previous Hitman on Linux and i'll be buying this one as well if they make a Linux version.

Playing the first on Linux, and surely will install the Linux version if available.

Truth be told, no Linux version won't be a deal breaker for me, for now. In 2 years from now, it's likely to be different. Vulkan makes Direct3D obsolete ....

I would love to see this get a Linux version, but fully expect to have to wait over year if it happens at all. Never mind, plenty of other games to play on Linux while I wait.

Hitman's main publisher doesn't do Mac/Linux ports. Feral Interactive was in charge of bringing Hitman over to Mac and have done other ports to the Apple OS such as Rise of the Tomb Raider, Deux Ex, Dirt Rally, Hitman Absolution etc. My guess is if there is a Mac/Linux port, expect it to come from them.

Never hurts to show support.

From whom? The support you're looking for will be from Feral Interactive, presumably after the game is released on Windows and consoles.

From anyone who happens upon the thread. You could always not read this thread if it bothers you so deeply.

I bought Season 1 as soon as it got a Linux port. Would do the same for Season 2.

No SteamOS/Linux port, no purchase.

[Edit] If you intend to buy it once ported, add it to your wishlist. If you have one platform filter selected in your Steam store preferences, your wishlisting of the game will count towards the total for your chosen platform.
