For The Linux!

@Ocelost: I'm in the same boat. After this change, they reworked the wishlist display, too, so people can filter by target system. But that needs some basic knowledge by the user/gifter as well... :)

I guess this is better than nothing, but it has an unfortunate side effect: By wishlisting games that aren't available for my platform, I encourage friends & family who see my whishlist to buy games for me that I cannot play. Their money is wasted, the gift I receive is useless, and the publisher is rewarded for the wrong platform. :(

Still not good enough as I also play via wine,

@Hamakei: Well, I did none of that and it still worked out...

@Zyro I'm really not sure what the purpose of your thread is. A thread of "worthy Windows-only titles"? How incredibly subjective.

@Zyro yes, it is. We'd have to switch off the filter, browse the store, then remember to switch it back on again, every single time we went to the Steam store. If we forgot to turn it back on, then our wishlist wouldn't be counted.

@Hamakei et al: It's not hard. You can still filter for Windows games here, there's other sources of information, or you could use these tipps:

It would be far more useful just to allow Steam users to set a "platform of preference" in their profiles, then have all games in their wishlist which aren't compatible with that platform show up in this breakdown you're offering.

Obviously set the platform to Windows by default so users who don't bother setting it won't be affected.
