DRAGON BALL Z: KAKAROT
(Guide) To turn on 4k and 60FPS (Guide) remove black bars 21:9
The game is able to run 4k 60FPS but if your stuck at 1080p here are some things to help with that.

FPS 30 to 60:
1. Vsync works at 60 FPS in borderless window mode.
2. If Fullscreen, turn Vsync off - Vsync caps the game at 30 fps. If you want to run the game at 60fps, turn off this setting
3. If your experiencing screen tearing (borderless or fullscreen) - follow below:
> turn off Vsync in-game
> create a profile for the game in the graphics card drivers control panel
> force Vsync through graphics card drivers
Note: make sure to add the correct executable when creating the profile -
DRAGON BALL Z KAKAROT\AT\Binaries\Win64\AT-Win64-Shipping.exe
4. for screen tearing issues -
> turn Vsync off in game
> turn the game to fullscreen
> go into your graphics card control panel and force Vsync on

To make game profiles using NVidia:
- right mouse click in your desktop and click NVidia control panel
- in the "3D Settings" section, go to the "Manage 3D Settings" option
- select the "Program Settings" tab
- use the dropdown to select the game if it's there, but if it's not, click the "Add" button and add the game's executable (DRAGON BALL Z KAKAROT\AT\Binaries\Win64\AT-Win64-Shipping.exe)
- in the list of settings, set "Vertical Sync" to On

1080p to 1440 or 4k:
1. Make sure windows screen resolution is set to the highest resolution - DBZ setting will only go as high as windows.
2. If you have 2 monitors turn/unplug your second one - DBZ sometimes has an issue with detecting the max resolution of the secondary monitor.
3. Increase the resolution from the Nvidia/AMD control panel - This will allow you to force a resolution into the game if needed. (see below - For Nvidia)
4. In the DBZ settings, increase the internal resolution from 100 to:
> 100 = 1080p (assuming your monitor/game are set to 1080p)
> 130 to 135 =1440p
> 200 = 4k

For Nvidia:
1. right click desktop and select Nvidia control panel.
2. go to manage 3D setting on the right side
3. under global settings go to DSR - Factors
4. select 2.00x and 4.00x
5. this should force those resolutions in game.

Vsync works in borderless windowed mode. For some reason, fullscreen sets the framerate to 30fps but not borderless windowed.

good information will add to the OG post.
Just set internal resolution to 150 and 200 (1440p and 4k), then the resolution is able to be selected. No need to turn off a second monitor or force a resolution.

Agree this is an easy way to force "higher" resolutions. Same lines as DSR.

will add to original post though just in case people didnt know what that was.
anyone else have any updates?

I think it's worth adding that it's possible to play in fullscreen at 60fps without tearing.
Have to turn off vsync in-game, create a profile for the game in the graphics card drivers control panel and force vsync through there.

Though have to make sure to add the correct executable when creating the profile:
DRAGON BALL Z KAKAROT\AT\Binaries\Win64\AT-Win64-Shipping.exe

In my case borderless mode causes stuttering, so this is an alternative to using borderless.

The 150 one is not correct, with the game set at 1080p, 150 = 1620p.
1440p would be between 130 and 135.

It depends if you have an AMD or an NVidia graphics card.

If it's NVidia:
- right mouse click in your desktop and click NVidia control panel
- in the "3D Settings" section, go to the "Manage 3D Settings" option
- select the "Program Settings" tab
- use the dropdown to select the game if it's there, but if it's not, click the "Add" button and add the game's executable (DRAGON BALL Z KAKAROT\AT\Binaries\Win64\AT-Win64-Shipping.exe)
- in the list of settings, set "Vertical Sync" to On

If it's AMD, I have no idea really, I don't have an AMD graphics card to check. :x

well it didnt work for me
Have they said if they are going to path the game to support 4k/60 without going into .ini?
Why did the devs choose 100, 150, and 200 for resolution settings?!? What does this even mean? No game that I have ever played has used those numbers for resolution settings. Why couldn't they just use proper screen resolutions in the options?

There are proper resolution options, those 100/150/200 options are resolution scaling options, they're just an extra beyond the regular resolution options.

For example, I have mine with the resolution set at 1920x1080 and the resolution scaling set at 150 (which is basically running the game at 2880x1620 and dowsamping to my native 1080p resolution).

A player can even set the resolution to 4K and the scaling option to 200, which would basically be running the game at 8K and downsampling to 4K (though not even a 2080 Ti can handle that at 60fps). xD

Also, the scaling option is not limited to just 100, 150 and 200. It starts from 70 and there's increments of 5 until 200.
The purpose of this option is to either serve as an extra form of high quality anti-aliasing by running the game at higher resolutions and scaling down to the selected resolution, or for users with weaker PCs it's possible to lower the scaling below native (100) to run the game at a lower resolution for the sake of improving performance (while still keeping the UI at native).
