Dragon Ball Z: Kakarot Ultrawide/21:9/32:9 Fix [EN]
Dragon Ball Z: Kakarot is a great game which sadly doesn't support Ultrawide (neither Gameplay nor Cutscenes).

Automatic Method:
  1. Lexars from the WSGF has uploaded a Fix/Patcher[community.pcgamingwiki.com]to the PCGamingWiki!
  2. There is also this one[github.com]made and publicised by _AG which adjusts the Aspect Ratio and FOV based on the screen size (Quoting Rose from the Comments: ''Presuming the patterns and code are all in order, it will also be unaffected by game updates unlike the patchers.'').

Current Problems:
The HUD isn't displayed right at some points (A Fix would be this Mod[kakarotmods.com]which disables some of the HUD elements).

Also; THIS[www.pcgamingwiki.com]could fix the 60FPS lock (haven't tested it myself).
Or use the Console Unlocker[framedsc.github.io]and set the setting to t.maxfps0

This is how the game will look like once you fixed it with the Automatic Method:

Main Menu:
https://abload.de/img/20200117195726_1jmk3p.jpg
Intro:
https://abload.de/img/20200117195713_1lek0a.jpg
Cutscene:
https://abload.de/img/20200117195739_1vxkt2.jpg
Gameplay:

Manual Method:
You can easily fix this by Hex Editing the Game and changing all 3B 8E E3 3F Hex Values with 8E E3 18 40 Hex Values (for 3440x1440);
00 00 A0 3F [instead of 8E E3 18 40] for 1280x1024;
CD CC CC 3F [instead of 8E E3 18 40] for 1440x900;
26 B4 17 40 [instead of 8E E3 18 40] for 2560x1080;
39 8E 63 40 [instead of 8E E3 18 40] for 3840x1080;
9A 99 19 40 [instead of 8E E3 18 40] for 3840x1600;
00 00 A0 3F [instead of 8E E3 18 40] for 4120x1024;
39 8E 63 40 [instead of 8E E3 18 40] for 5160x1440;
AE 47 A1 40 [instead of 8E E3 18 40] for 5292x1050;
AB AA AA 40 [instead of 8E E3 18 40] for 7680x1440.

To fix the FOV just replace all 35 FA 0E 3C F4 Hex Values with 35 D4 83 3C F4 Hex Values.
For Multi-Monitor/32:9 EF D4 83 3C Hex Values instead of 35 FA 0E 3C Hex Values.

Now you can enjoy both Gameplay and Cutscenes in 21:9 (even the Main Menu works!).

Keep in mind that this Fix only works for the Steam Version of the game and needs to be redone after every official Update (also keep in mind to read the short Hex Edit Tutorial down below if you don't know how to Hex Edit).
If the Fix strangely doesn't work try to set the inGame resolution to 16:9 (1920x1080) since the 3B 8E E3 3F Hex Values are for 16:9.

Current Problems:
Cutscenes might look very zoomed in (Follow the ''EDIT:'' in the Stickied Post for 21:9 Gameplay & 16:9 Cutscenes).

This is how the game will look like once you fixed it via the Hex Editor:

If you don't know how to Hex Edit:
Just download the program ''HxD'' from their Official Website.[mh-nexus.de]
  1. --> Open HxD
  2. --> Press Control O
  3. --> Choose the Game's Shipping Exe (''AT-Win64-Shipping'' in steamapps/common/AT/Binaries/Win64)
  4. --> Press Control R
  5. --> Go to Hex Values (on top)
  6. --> Search for 3B 8E E3 3F and change it with 8E E3 18 40 (or other resolutions)
  7. --> For 21:9 FOV search for 35 FA 0E 3C F4 and change it with 35 D4 83 3C F4 (For 32:9 it is EF D4 83 3C instead of 35 FA 0E 3C)
  8. --> Activate Search direction all
  9. --> Press Change everything (bottom middle)
  10. --> (should change three values / five values for FOV) Now go to the top left and save it where the normal exe is, changing it with the old one. If you have problems, just repair the game via Steam.

Both Fixes wouldn't be possible without the WSGF, so make sure to head over there and give them some appreciation!

These are what I'd recommend for 3440x1440, you'll have a value swap at other resolutions:
Search for 3B 8E E3 3F and replace the last 2 results with 8E E3 18 40 (for other resolutions, refer to the original chart)

For the FOV, search for 3B 35 FA 0E 3C and replace with 3B 35 D4 53 3C.
Note: the 0E value is what alters the FOV, tweak this to taste (I thought 53 looked decent and doesn't suffer nearly as bad from the mega fisheye of the original suggestion, 43 is as low as I'd go for this value personally).
Note 2: I have no idea what FA to D4 does, but I assume the original tweak here fixes something so I'm leaving it as is. Feel free to play around with this value to see what happens.

Believe me, it is quite easy :) Takes you about 2 minutes.

Picked the wrong resolution when it came to the Hex Values? Which resolution do you run?

i'm using 3440*1440, some of the menus and stuff are fine but then the first fight started and it was black barred. i'll make screens later

I've done it in the hex editor twice and changed all the resolution settings and managed to get it to fit in ultrawide but for some reason my character keeps going invisible and glitching out. Is there anything I missed?

I'm able to get 21:9 working perfectly but I'm having issues with FOV.
I can replace all 35 FA 0E 3C Hex Values with 35 FA 28 3C Hex Values but when I'm ingame my screen shakes nonstop which is unplayable.
Anyone else having this issue or know a fix?

Edit:found solution

"To change the FOV to a proper FOV for different aspect ratios replacing "35 FA 0E 3C F4" with the FOV hex value of choice based off your aspect ratio will do the trick:

"35 FA 3E 3C F4" for 21:9"

I've had the same issue @7680x1440
Switching from fullscreen to borderless window fixed it for me.

I found the fix for this from another post

Heya,

you actually were a bit too optimistic with that one -- cutscenes with using this FIX are massively zoomed in, side content is cut off.
So that sadly still isn't really a feasible state at the moment... the game is so cutscene-heavy, at least to me it would ruin too much.
SP4RT4N3R Jan 17, 2020 @ 1:31pm
Oh yeah sorry about that!
Edited my post, 35 FA 3E 3C F4 should be right.

Changing the FOV via Cheat Engine doesn't break the cutscenes for me.
