where do i go? what am i doing? why does the gun do 1 damage? why does everything kill me in 4 hits?

I have ran around Verdant Gamma forever and there is nothing left for me to do. Does anyone know what I'missing? There is some metal blocking the way at the bottom of the green forest area that I can't get past. There is a ?door? to the right of the brown area that I don't even see except on the map just to the right of a save spot. There is the deep water in the purple area I can't get by and also a spot that I must need an air dash or double jump. They won't let me use the ship to leave the planet. ...

My left stick/analog (to move) isn't working correctly. Every other button seems to be working out finelly. The D-pad is working correctly to move. The bizarre thing is that when a push it (left stick) upwards I can acess the menu to save and other things, but when I push it left or right it doesn't do anything. So I can't move using the stick. My controller is working fine. Just to be sure I tried to play other games after testing MindSeize and it worked perfectly....
