Steam Screenshots?

Whatever I bind the Screenshot function to, it doesn't work with EVE Online.

Any tips/tricks?

What OS are you using? How are you launching EvE? Post Oddysey, the overlay should work. By default it's F12, but that does invoke the help menu.

It works fine for me, but I am playing on a non steam account. Shouldn't matter though.

I'm using Windows 7 64-bit. I'm launching EVE from my library directly.

Do you have the overlay when playing? Or is it just taking screenshots that doesn't work?

I do have the overlay, but screenshots won't work at all. I've tried rebinding from F12 so Shift-F12 and Shift-: etc, but nothing seems to work.

Do you have this problem in any other games? Pretty strange issue.

Nope, none at all.

When you try to take a screenshot.. try tapping shift and alt (one after another) first.. could be a modifier is getting in the way. That, or I'd suggest having Steam "regenerate".

Tried the former, but no idea what you mean by having Steam regenerate... I'll do some research [:

In Steam's folder, delete everything but steamapps and steam.exe

When you run Steam, it will re-download and rebuild everything Steam uses. This WILL require you to re-authenticate with Steamguard and may impact settings you have made in the Steam client. This may also remove screenshots you may have taken.

EVE has been like this since since day 1 .Only way I found to take shots was to use printscreen in game and copy paste them from your EVE documents folder.in to your steam screen shot user date folders via the upload option in your screen shot libary

Can you do me a favor and make sure you'd actually paying attention to recent events?


Screenshots work fine since the last major milestone build for Steam.

There's something specific to your system that is preventing you from taking those shots. I have absolutely no idea why. I'd have steam regenerate, failing that send a support ticket and put a note on the Help community hub.
