How do I log in without steam?

I am already playing EVE Online without steam and saw todays offer, bought it to use as an ALT account and followed the instructions about logging into the CCP website via steam, created the account and its all active ect.
However when i try to login (via the non steam launcher) it says invalid user/pass (im suppose to use my steam login details right?)

I am not on MAC

So whats going on? Losing subscription time here!

When you logged in via Steam on the EVE Online website didn't have you create an account for your alt?

Yes I did, but the username says 'Steam user' and no options to set or change a password.

I really wish I had more answers guys. :( While EvE is a wonderful game they have royally ****ed this steam-login stuff up.

Hmm found a way to fix it, once you have the game patched and installed and registered your steam account with eve. Close out of everything, even the launcher and start it up again. It should auto log you in and all you have to do is hit play.
