but thet said, the first one seems a bit better (I have just started this one...completed the first on a few times).
And this is NOT a continuation of the first game, it's a standalone DLC, sort of.
But the first one, is one of the best games ever made (very personal opinion).
And this one look like more of the same...but still different...
But if you find the double-pack on a sale, just go for it.. :) (actually even worth full price..)
yet another thread on the same topic and there'is a few more if you dig in the forum
I mean everyone should play Subnautica.
To me the fly in the ointment in this game is the seatruck. It's one of those things that probably worked great on paper, but they just couldn't let it go; you can almost feel the stubbornness of the devs doggedly insisting on its inclusion every time you pilot it. The irony is that they consider it a "feature" of the game that helps differentiate it. I suppose it does, just not the way they'd hoped.
The original game has better flow and you're not constantly asking yourself "why did they do this". That said, the first game is a lot less of a directed experience, you can easily find yourself wondering what to do next. Frequently you have to read the PDA messages very carefully to figure out where you should be headed. Up to the individual whether that's better or worse.
If you buy both, please play Subnautica first. It's bigger, scarier, harder, more original... just BETTER than Below Zero.
