Be advised the More Ingots mod on Nexus will allow you to craft and uncraft Quartz ingots to conserve storage space.

If they're somehow "connected" to the planet, maybe they have the ability to recall things from elsewhere, a la conjuration spells in other games. Sucks for the person who loses that fancy hat you end up with, but eh.
My primary concern with that is it might bog down my PC's performance by adding to the litter the cache files are keeping track of. We had that issue with the first Subnautica game if I recall correctly and I would rather not have that happen here, if I can help it.
That, plus I would need to remember where it all is later.
