Then post back "Where to find Magnetite?"
that's why i suggested a camera at first even if a bit tedious outcrop per outcrop
(i did build a camera for my first diamonds)
I do not get this at all. In a fraction of the time that you have been visually searching for galena outcrops, you could have gathered the raw materials to build a scanner room in Twisty Bridges and you would never have a lead (or virtually any raw mineral) scarcity issue ever again.
All of the raw materials to make a scanner room are easy to find with the exception of magnetite for the HUD and range upgrades. For that, just go onto land at the Glacial Bay dock with a mineral detector set for magnetite and it should find it within 100m.
It should take no more than an hour to gather all of the necessary raw materials and then build your first mineral detector, scanner room, HUD and range upgrades. After that, you can easily collect a dozen lead in a matter of minutes instead of your experience of three in a matter of hours.
Once you have built the first scanner room, you can dismantle it and move it anywhere in the game world (land or sea) to detect the few rare resources at deep or remote locations.
