Plant food guide?
Is there a below zero guide comparing the various plant foods?

In the original subnautica after a bit of research I eventually switched to Bulbo trees for all my food and water needs, or occasionally the melons (when dry) or the bulbs at my outside growbed. I hate repetitive labor and I am tired of cooking fish, it is time to go vegetarian... out of laziness, and choose the best vegetarian water/food source.

I haven't seen one compiled but would be thrilled if someone did.

For now I think Marblemelons are still the best all-around fruit, but the Leafy Fruit adds Health so that's pretty good too.

Ice Fruits & Heat Fruits are nicely balanced but not farmable yet (so far).

Also, chinese potato is an edible farmable plant.

Thanks. I have come across leafy, ice and heat fruits but I have yet to encounter marble melons, Chinese potatoes or any of the other farmable plants from the original subnautica. I will keep an eye out for them.

With the game being incomplete, I gave up and just consoled in one marble melon and went from there. Don't know if that will still work with all the massive rewriting.

The Flora wiki entry is only sorta useful because you have to click through to each plant's page to see the food/water values.

Plus it has all the non-edible stuff as well.

I'd like to see a page with all the food/water values as a straight-up list.

Probably not worth doing until things are finalized tho, I have a feeling a lot of those values will be changing.

Some findings:

1) Plant pots are not really yet available.
- You can find them at various bases but are not scannable.
- But there is hope... VillainCloud made a video about a week ago showing how to get it from a building in the rocket island that does not yet show in game. Apparently it is something that was added to the most recent developer build. Now to hope it gets migrated to the the main build soon.

2) As _conscience_ indicated there are some farmables (marblemelons and chinese potatoes) at the Omega base. Too bad that my favorite - the bulbo tree (due to the high water content in addition to food) - isn't there. I hope that it can be found elsewhere.

3) Some of the new "ground" plants look promising. I hope they can be planted in planters and/or pots.

Plant pots are scannable at Maida's greenhouse (and buildable after that).

You have to talk to Maida first and complete her "mission".

I think the story might be messed up. I encountered her once at the rocket island. Got no mission from her, just "stay away". I found a guide that says that you have to repair the radio tower at the rocket island... but it is not broken.

You have to find her base located generally under the Rocket island. It's not easy to find, good luck. Talk to her there and she'll give you a mission of sorts.
