Edit: are you maybe playing experimental? Maybe there they removed it from the island...
Its appearence might be triggered ?
I didn't even enter the drop pod after leaving the exploding shuttle...
Leave lifepod, look around - hey there's a Twisty Bridge, I'll go that way.
A Twisty arch blocking my path? I'll go under it.
Hey the terrain really drops off here and there are Twisty Bridges all around me, and an Oxygen plant below me. Let's "go deeper."
Hey there's an abandoned base piece in it with 3 valuable scans!
The map is hand-crafted to lead you where you need to go, you just need to allow yourself to be led there.
I mostly play solo RPG's where I go any other way than the place the map is trying to take me so I can find all the stuff. I have to take my head out of the RPG mindset with games like this I guess.
thats not where i found it, i found it in a single tube style base in twisty bridges.
even the rocket island is close to impossible to find because of the constant fog and tempests raging around.
tbh, this is bad design :/
edit : yes it is my first playthrough.
no i will not look at a map online.
