Closing Inventory Problem.

I know this may sound stupid but hear me out.

I've played and finished the first Subnautica some years ago and now I decided to give this one a go.

I know for a fact that this Sub Zero and the First one are the same in many ways especially key wise, yet the inventory and everything else in the game has a problem closing. What do I mean?

I press Tab to open the inventory and then press Tab again to close it ..only to see the inventory is still there and not closing at all so I press again Tab and nothing and again I press Tab and nothing and then again I press Tab and there you go, it closed after so many Tabs.

I go to the locker and open the locker to place some stuff inside and then press Tab again and nothing happens, so I keep pressing the Tab until it closes but it insists to not closing so to my anger I press ESC and the damn pause menu pops up without delay.

Sometimes my inventory does not close with Tab but with the E button, when that happens it's totally random so it's not like it's showing me or anything 'Hey I decided to close with E now not Tab, just letting you know' so I have to really press many buttons for something to close.

I even exited and verified all my files through steam and yet the same problem. I even uninstalled the game and re-installed the game and the problem is still there, I'm about to leave the damn game and never come back if this keeps up. It's small I know but it is so annoying... I just can't play like this, waiting an hour for something to close when it decides it wants to.

Could it be your keyboard?
Try opening Notepad and press TAB a few times and see what happens...

Try changing you key bindings. For example, I use middle mouse button instead of tab.
The mouse button keybinds are different between SN and BZ. In SN you could eat or drink with left mouse while a locker was open and move items with right mouse. In BZ left mouse is used for transferring items and you cannot use items while the inventory is open to another storage container.

I did some tests like you said on the Notepad of my entire keyboard, at least 100 times each button, not even joking.

My keyboard is fine, no skips or double clicks or null clicks.

I tried in other games I play that require multiple presses (I said clicks above) of a button and everything was fine.

It has to be the game for me, googling it does not help because it seems like nobody else has this problem, apparently I'm the only one individual that has this problem. Just my luck :/

I didn't know in SubNautica you could move items with right mouse.
I always did it with left mouse just like Bellow Zero.

I did change the inventory to open and close with (~) but there is still a problem, it opens fine but struggles to close. So far I have died countless times because I couldn't close inventory after healing, eating e.t.c to many things like shortage of breath, monster chasing me.

I guess I'll give the game another go once the new patch drops.
